7 Day Sicily and Aeolian Island Crewed Catamaran Itinerary - Discover Milazzo, Lipari, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli, Filicudi, Alicudi & Vulacano on your Sicily Crewed Catamaran
A Sicily and the Aeolian Islands yacht charter are two of the best areas for you and your family and friends to charter one of our luxury crewed catamarans. Here you can really embrace island life; enjoy the breathtaking beaches, lush green landscapes, striking volcanoes, as well as some wonderful food and wine!
The wide bays at the islands allow you to make the most of your time on the water and try out some of the onboard watertoys, so why not get practicing your water skiing, paddle boarding and maybe even scuba diving!
Start your journey in Milazzo, a large port town on the northeastern coast of Sicily. Here meet your crew and step on board your luxury crewed catamaran that will be your home for the next week! Set sail over to the Aeolian Islands, an archipelago of dramatic landscapes jutting out of the glistening sea to create a dynamic, natural paradise. Your first stop is Lipari, the gateway to the Aeolians and the largest of the seven islands. First wander around Lipari town, which is charming with its pastel-coloured houses and vibrant with bustling bars and restaurants. Then cruise up the coast to Coral beach, Cannetto, and spend the evening watching the sun go down over the islands and enjoying a delicious meal made for you by your on board chef. Stay overnight at anchor here.
Today make the short trip over to Salina, the Aeolian’s second largest island. In contrast to the other Aeolian Islands that have a more exposed volcanic landscape, Salina has a beautiful, lush and green environment scattered with wild flowers – perfect for hiking and exploring! In the evening go to the main hub of the island, Santa Marina Salina, and enjoy a fantastic meal in the harbour at Ristorante Port Bello where you can sit on the balcony with a glass of Prosecco and watch the world go by. Stay in the port here overnight.
On Day 3, head over from Salina to Panarea, which is a simple gem of an Aeolian Island. With white washed villages, winding streets, and no cars allowed on the island, it is the perfect place to relax. Head to the beautiful bay of Cala Junco and get practicing your water sports in the crystal clear waters here, then explore the quiet coves on the untouched and uninhabited south and west side of the island. Panarea is home to one of Italy’s best nightclubs; Hotel Raya, which is only open from mid-July – August every year, but comes alive when it does! Have dinner here and then follow on to a night of exotic cocktails and lively music when you step down on to the lower dance floor. Dress to impress and party the night away with the most exclusive VIP’s.
On your fourth day exploring the breath-taking Aeolian Islands, sail over to Stromboli, home to one of the three active volcanoes in Italy and name the “Lighthouse of the Mediterranean”. This captivating island is for many the highlight of the Aeolian Islands, and is now holiday home to the designers Dolce & Gabbana. The northeastern area of the island is where you can swim at the famous picture-perfect black beaches set below the spectacular volcano. Then you can later visit Il Nuovo Incontro on the west side of the island in the town of Ginostra, which is a wonderful restaurant serving up the freshest seafood with some spectacular sea views. Spend the night at port here.
Today you will sail over to the west side of the archipelago to visit Filicudi and Alicudi. These islands are appealing to many due to their off-the-beaten-track atmosphere, rugged coastlines and glistening blue waters. Visit the Grotta del Bue Marino in Filicudi for a day of simple tranquillity discovering the beautiful caves and bright blue waters. Then head over to Alicudi, where you can hike up to the summit of this extinct volcano to see some of the most spectacular views of the six other Aeolian Islands stretching out into the distant blue.
On Day 6 of your luxury catamaran charter, make your way over to Vulcano, one of the most famous Aeolian Islands due to its active and impressive volcano. Here you can hike to the summit of the volcano and wander over to the two mud baths Acqua del Bagno and Acqua Bollente. Later, head to the northern side of the island to Gelso, a small fishing village, where you can relax on the volcanic beaches, kayak in the bay and you might even catch sight of some dolphins! This evening visit Trattoria Maniaci Pino, which is a fantastic traditional Sicilian restaurant serving up the freshest seafood and pasta dishes. Stay here at anchor overnight before your return to Milazzo tomorrow.
Today is the final day of your charter. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board your luxury catamaran and soak up every last bit of your time in Aeolian Islands. Set sail back to Sicily and say your goodbyes to your fantastic crew that has been looking after you so well. It will have been an extraordinary experience seeing some of the most beautiful natural wonders - we look forward to seeing you next year!
