What would a typical day look like on your Sardinia yacht charter?

Your first stop would be at Cala Coticcio on Caprera island where you could swim to the beach with the Seabobs. Step back onboard for aperitivo time and a small of glass of wine. A nice 2014 Capichera Vendemmia Tardiva Vermentino IGT will go down a treat! Cruise through the cerulean waters of the Maddalena and stop at La Scogliera for lunch.

Where should we go for lunch?

Located at the heart of the Maddalena Archipelago in Porto Massimo, La Scogliera is the must visit dining experience for summer 2020 in Sardinia. Get ready for the freshest fish, seafood and Italian classics, as well as Sushi, Poke Bowls and Ceviches. It continues to be the the standout seafood restaurant for yacht owners and celebrity alike, so let’s get your table reserved now!

And after lunch..?

After a long lunch and more swimming, head to Phi Beach club and take in one of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see. Stay onboard for an al fresco dinner at anchor under the stars. Life really doesn’t get much better, and that’s just one day! Spend one week onboard and this will be the feedback you will share:

“ Thank you for a week of a lifetime on board Porthos. You know we’ve loved it because we have not stopped smiling. Laughing and howling with excitement as we arrive at the next stunning location, and play with the latest sporting kit, and eat the next delicious meal. We have, quite simply, had the best time. You have made it extra special by going the extra mile in every way. The children’s meals, kayaks made from paddle boards, gluten free chips, unexpected stops at bays and endless, endless trips on the alligator.
Watching the children having the time of their lives and the grown ups too, is quite something… Thank you for all of it, you are all stars. We will be back! ”

What should I wear?

Whether you decide to embark on your superyacht charter on the French Riviera or the adventure of a lifetime on a sailing yacht in the Caribbean, your charter will be the ultimate week of luxury living. If being on a yacht itself is not enough to make you feel chic, it is also important to look the part on your yacht charter. All yachts have their own sense of dress code so you need to pack the right outfits for your location and importantly for your boat. The tip is to stay warm, safe and stylish, whilst simultaneously matching the style of your yacht.

Classic Yacht Charter

This charter is the definition of chic. Channel your inner Brigitte Bardot onboard a classic yacht. You need to match the teak decks onboard. Think of watching Les Voiles De St Tropez or visiting a remote Caribbean island for inspiration.

The packing essentials:

  • The Ralph Lauren cruise collections, including the iconic blue shirt and a Breton, blue striped jumper.
  • J Crew white trousers.
  • Chanel Espadrilles, and anything else Chanel.

Superyacht Charter, French Riviera

A Breton stripe just won’t cut it for your superyacht charter on the French Riviera. Ensure to pack long dresses and bohemian beachwear for the many beach clubs in the South of France.

  • Vilebrequin swim shorts
  • Chanel Espadrilles for shoreside time
  • Celine Maxi Dresses for evening attire
  • White dresses/ trousers to broadcast bronzed skin.

Bareboat charter in the Med

  • The North Face Duffel Bag
  • Oakley shades
  • Sebago Deck Shoes

Caribbean Sailing

Whether you’re island hopping in the British Virgin Islands or hiking in the French Caribbean. The Caribbean requires a very varied wardrobe. Be sure to bring a light jacket as temperatures during the night can drop quite low! The sun is very strong, covering up as much as possible in the Caribbean is recommended.

Statement bikinis- swimwear is the most crucial outfit of the Caribbean charter. The Amenipah shell bikini is a must for the charter.

  • Hiking boots
  • The Caribbean, floral cover-ups for beach clubs.
  • A light jacket for cooler evenings. The Caribbean does also tends to be very casual, especially at night.

Regatta Yacht Charter

  • Dubarry boots for the bow.
  • Helly Hansen Jackets
  • Sail personalised Quba Sails Duffel Bag
  • Knee pads
  • Sun Protected clothing with UV and plenty of suncream.

Baglietto 40m Superyacht Concept Abaco

Baglietto announced plans at the 60th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to launch a Bahamas inspired superyacht. Designed by Santa Maria Magnolfi, the Abaco concept is a tribute to those affected by the recent Hurricane Dorian. Baglietto claim that they will donate a percentage of the first sale towards relief efforts in the Bahamas.

The Bahamas are known for the great outdoors and Baglietto’s concept is no different. The Abaco concept will feature over 120m2 of outdoor space on the main aft deck. This vast area will provide guests with unparalleled sunbathing, socialising and al fresco dining spaces. Imagine embarking in Nassau and taking in the spectacular views of the Exumas on your Bahamas Yacht Charter.

The interior design will use natural materials such as tropical woods, teak and linen to create refined surroundings. The continuity between the external and internal social areas will give a greater sense of space. Accommodation will be provided for 10 guests in 5 cabins, comprising the main deck master suite and 4 supplementary staterooms below deck. Get your family together for a fun-filled summer yacht charter.

The Bahamas continue to be the must-visit winter destination and you should support the local people by visiting. The Exumas islands are in pristine condition and Nassau was unaffected, so get your group together for this winters Bahamas crewed motor yacht charter.

Vegan Yacht Chefs

A rise of veganism worldwide has meant that there is more demand than ever for chefs that can cater to a vegan diet. A vegan diet involves cutting out animal products like meat, fish, dairy and eggs and in Great Britain in 2016, there are estimated to be around 540,000 vegans. Therefore, we have found our favourite yachts with chefs that can cater to vegan clients in the Bahamas, the Amalfi Coast, the French Riviera and Greece.

NITSA

NITSA is based in Fort Lauderdale and available to charter in the Bahamas. Chef Katie grew up baking long before she learned to cook. Over the years she’s been able to study a wide variety of cuisines, including time in Florence, Italy and has developed an appreciation for myriad styles and flavour palates. At the same time, she’s seen the effects (good and bad) of how food & nutrition relate to the quality of life—personally, professionally, and medically. It encouraged her to leave New York City after a decade in the book publishing industry to study with renowned vegan chef, Alexx Guevara, at his culinary center at The Ranch at Live Oak in Malibu, California.

From there, she worked with Chef Alexx at Sanctuary Treatment Center, where she co-directed the nutritional and culinary program at this boutique women’s residential rehabilitation, including teaching classes, where the focus was on restoring clients’ dietary and nutritional health alongside their own recovery. Currently, Katie directs the culinary program for GroundSea Fitness, a yoga & wellness retreat held several times each year in the Berkshire Mountains, where she creates and executes this ovo-vegetarian program, including the addition of tonics, house-made teas and elixirs, and locally-sourced bone broths.

SOLO

Based in Genoa in summer and Antigua in winter, SOLO Chef Gionata was born in Italy and has been a Chef for 25 years, working for many VIPs in some of the best restaurants in the world. He received a Michelin star and have been reviewed in the best gourmet guides. As a superyacht Chef, he believes that the cuisine served is not only a showpiece but nutrition as well.

His passion for food varies from creating the perfect roast dinner to a 7-courses degustation menu to show a whole range of different cooking techniques and products. He also specialises in vegan, vegetarian and low-calorie diets. He is also up to date with all the latest cooking techniques, methods & equipment so that he can keep up with the best and latest restaurants. Cooking demonstrations with the guests either at the table or in the kitchen are also a special touch he likes to offer the charter guests.

MINOU

Marco is a native of Sardinia and after graduating from the Italian Chef Academy, he began working on the Costa Smeralda. His passion and curiosity led him to enrol in masterclasses of vegan and vegetarian cooking, bakery and pastry-making and gather a growing following. Marco has also taught classes of Italian and Sardinian cooking. To this day he is often invited to cook private dinners abroad.

Crewed cats in the Exumas

2 top Crewed Catamarans in the Exumas/Nassau/area in the Bahamas that have not been affected by Dorian.

We all witnessed with grief the unimaginable destruction brought upon Great Abaco and Grand Bahama Islands by hurricane Dorian and we pray for the fast and smooth recovery of the stricken areas.

Regardless, the Bahamas remains one of our most popular year-long yachting destinations: Dorian only affected the above-mentioned islands but the rest of the islands is as beautiful as always.

In any case, the majority of charter vessels have always been based in the Nassau cruising area. The Exumas combine a protected sailing area with magic sandy beaches, turquoise waters and high temperatures all year long. Some of the most popular charter vessels in Nassau and the Exumas are crewed catamarans

AMURA II

AMURA II is a lovely Lagoon 560, with a professional crew of 2 (captain and hostess/chef). Based all year long in Nassau, AMURA II will also consider one-way charters starting Nassau and finishing in the Exumas; this will allow you more time in order to explore the islands!

SEA SENOR

Available out of Nassau for both day charters as well as for longer period cruises is SEA SENOR! Excellent catamaran with a very experienced crew, ideal for short escapes out of Nassau! Feel free to contact now our expert broker team and start planning your next crewed catamaran charter in the Bahamas.

M/Y SILVER LINING – EXUMAS

With the terrible misfortune, it seems fitting that we have a yacht called SILVER LINING. Berthed in the Exumas, she is an excellent alternative to chartering in the Abacos.

The stunning SILVER LINING is still available for Thanksgiving in Nassau to cruise the Exumas. Although Hurricane Dorian caused devastation in the Northern Islands of the Bahamas, there are still hundreds of untouched islands in the Cays. The Exumas is a 100 mile stretch of stunning coastline and turquoise waters where you can enjoy beautiful anchorages and wonderful fresh food.

Must see

The Tropic of Cancer beach, also known as Pelican beach is a must-see on Little Exuma. The sand is blindingly white, not just lightly coloured as many ‘white beaches’ are described. The sand itself radiates the sunlight that bathes it to create a blaze of light unique to this beach. If ever there was a picture postcard, then this beach truly is it:

Swimming Pigs!

Big Major’s Cay is home to the mystifying swimming pigs! It is widely believed that the reason the pigs swim in this area is down to their intelligence. Pigs are extremely intelligent, and they know tourists will come and feed them, hence why they will always swim out to you!

Stocking Island amongst other islands in the Exumas is home to Stromatolites, the oldest known macro-fossils on earth. They hold the biological activity of thousands of years.

Wildlife and nature

If you are a lover of marine life and nesting sea birds, then Moria Harbour Cay National Park is a must-see. Sand dunes, beaches, mangroves and seagrass all located between Great and Little Exuma. This area covers 13,440 acres!

The Yacht!

SILVER LINING is the perfect yacht to take you around the Bahamian paradise with a great crew on board, Captain Peter and chef/stewardess Ginny are a highly proactive team who are keen to ensure a memorable experience for their clients.

She offers 3 ensuite cabins, perfect for a family or group of friends. A well presented enclosed flybridge with a large dining table. The cockpit has easy access to the sea for fishing and swimming. Huge sunbathing area on the bow.

BBQ grill to cook the catch of the day! A great selection of water toys including wave runner, wakeboard, skis, SUP, airhead inflatable tube, 2 floating islands, snorkelling gear, fishing gear and beach set up with chairs. For an additional cost, clients can hire the 36ft Aquila power cat which also comes with a crew member giving a higher level of service on board.

Get on contact with us today to see how you can enjoy SILVER LINING on your Thanksgiving holiday.

West Coast of Corsica Part 2:

A short cruise around from Ajaccio you will arrive in Propriano, a beautiful fishing harbor in the narrowest part of the Valinco Golf in Corsica.

Propriano

The majority of the buildings date from the early 19th century, prior to this the area was occupied by Romans and Greeks, but having been frequently attacked by pirates in the late 18th century, little remains of early Propriano.

Propriano is mainly one long cobbled street with luxury shops, cafes and bars in the traditional old houses, it’s a lovely place to explore. Propriano has become quite a popular area in Corsica thanks to her numerous close by beaches including Plage du Lido, a stunning white sandy beach with views over the gulf of Propriano.

Roccapina?

Further south after a leisurely cruise you will find the beautiful Plage de Roccapina, a 2km stretch of white sand adorned with magnificent rock formations including the Roccapina Lion.

A little inland from Roccapina beach is the stunning Domaine de Murtoli, a natural and peaceful resort with the stunning beach restaurant La Table de la Plage, inspired by an ancient fisherman’s hut, furniture made of driftwood and shaded by olive and mastik trees.

The restaurant offers gastronomic food including locally grown meat, freshly caught fish or seafood seasoned to enhance their flavour. Chef Renard Laurence has created a selection of their most popular ‘ecorces’ to enjoy in the lounges or on the sunbeds where relaxation is paramount.

Bonifacio

On the southernmost point of Corsica when you cruise the straights of Bonifacio, it is truly magnificent, with dramatic limestone cliffs on either side, you cruise for around an hour and a half before arriving at the pretty town consisting of brasseries, bars, and cafes, the perfect place to enjoy an evening ashore.

Porto Vecchio around to the east of Bonifacio is known as the ‘Pearl of the south’, with winding narrow streets inside the ramparts offering many restaurants, shops and cafes. Porto Vecchio has an Italian chic which gives a great energy to the town.

Porto Vecchio is home to the exquisite white sandy beach Santa Giulia and the stunning Palombaggia with perfect sand and a red rock backdrop.

West Coast of Corsica Part 1.

Broker Cordy gives an insight into her time working onboard Megayachts

One of my favorite places to cruise when I worked onboard mega yachts (Giga yachts weren’t around then!) was the stunning West coastline of Corsica. I was fortunate to work for a wonderful English family who adored this area, so it is where we spent the majority of the summer. On a displacement yacht cruising at around 12knots, the journey from Cannes to St Florent is around 10 hours which can normally be achieved overnight. So, if you are on the French Riviera and fancy something a little different, why not enjoy a wonderful dinner on board anchored at the Iles des Lerins, Cannes, and then start your journey after this. Be sure to ask the crew to wake you up at dawn to dolphin watch! One of the most amazing experiences at sea.

Arriving in St Florent is stunning, this pretty little fishing port has a host of local restaurants and bars huddled around the marina. Restaurant de l’Europe and Le Grill are perfect places to sit in the sun and watch the world go by!

Having relaxed in the sun, head one street back to the old town full of independent shops selling local charcuterie and souvenirs. Keep heading up and you will reach the citadel, steps from the citadel car park lead down to a small beach. The stunning cathedral de Nebbio is found on the other side of the town on the Chemin de la Cathedrale and is most definitely worth a visit.

For the more energetic persons amongst your group, Le Roya Beach can be found to the southeast of the town offering water sports including windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, jet skis and scuba diving! There really is something for everyone!

Heading west from St Florent is the beautiful town of Calvi. Coming into port you have an incredible view of the citadel, once docked, it is definitely worth climbing up the cobbled streets for breathtaking panoramic views of your surroundings. There are some great restaurants up here as well as the voguish Chez Tao bar!

Once you have soaked up the incredible views, wander around the shops through the old cobbled streets of the town. The marché de l’Orée des Pins is full of local charcuterie, grapes, cheeses, and amazing pastries!

Around the corner, further West from Calvi is possibly the most beautiful spot in the Med! Girolata is a fortified bay at the south of the Scandola Nature Reserve. The setting is spectacular, with the village perched on the peninsula and surrounded by the sea and the famous red rock mountains of this area.  This bay is a wonderful place to anchor and swim ashore to the beautiful beach.

Further south in the Scandola National Park is the bay of Porto where you can find a pretty little village and see more of the stunning Calanques de Piana rock formations.

Having enjoyed the National Park, further south again you will find Ajaccio, famous for being the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte! You can visit the Maison Bonaparte, now a national museum, the ancestral home of the Bonaparte family, to discover more about his life. Ajaccio’s charming old town is a great place to amble and enjoy the beautiful architectural features and stunning landmarks such as the Cathedrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption.

The pretty port of Ajaccio is adorned with bars and restaurants serving seafood and pizzas. The perfect place to soak up the atmosphere and admire the view!
