Depending on your travel preferences and budgets, it may be more efficient to fly into St. Thomas rather than directly to Tortola. Tortola is serviced by small planes; however, larger aircraft and airlines such as American, Delta, and JetBlue typically fly to St. Thomas. Should you choose to do this, you can hop on a ferry that will take you from St. Thomas to your destination in Tortola.
The ferry typically takes about an hour, so be sure to consider timing when booking flights and ferry tickets. Depending on weather and water conditions, you can leave from the ferry terminal in Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook in St. Thomas and sail to Road Town or West End in Tortola. You will use the same ports when traveling from Tortola back to St. Thomas.
