The 2019 Mediterranean Yacht Show

It’s almost time for your Boatbookings crewed yacht charter brokers to attend the annual Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) in Nafplion, Greece. With 107 yachts on display measuring over 3000m in length, the 2019 MEDYS is going to be the most successful yacht show to date. Today, we will take a look at three of our favourite yachts exhibiting from the 4-8 May 2019.

MELITI | Lagoon 560

MEDYS 2019 will showcase the best motor and sailing yachts available for charter in Greece, as well as some of our favourite Greek crewed catamarans. MELITI is a luxurious Lagoon 560 catamaran, accommodating 10 guests in 5 cabins for sailing charter through the Saronic and Cyclades islands. In addition to catamarans, MEDYS 2019 will showcase the best Greece crewed motor yachts. PARIS A continues to be one of our favourites in the 100-120 feet range, offering five spacious suites, a large flybridge and a great selection of water toys. Furthermore, she has a dedicated crew, as well as a superb chef in Dionisios for summer 2019. We look forward to being dazzled with his creations!

BLISS | Heesen 44m

BLISS has just benefitted from an extensive winter refit and is therefore in sparkling condition for the summer 2019 Greek yachting season. Experienced Captain Takis, and his dedicated crew of 8 will show you the best Cyclades Islands Motor Yacht Itinerary with stops in the magical Mykonos and picturesque Paros.

Heesen Launches 50m MASA Superyacht

Heesen have just launched MASA, their eighth yacht from the 5000 Aluminium Class. Omega Architects, responsible for designing the exteriors, created a stunning sporty profile. MASA will undergo extensive sea trials before delivery to her owners in time for the Mediterranean summer season.

Heesen Superyacht Masa will accommodate 12 guests in 6 stunning cabins. Accommodation spaces will include the main deck master stateroom, as well as five suites below deck. MASA runs twin MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines, which propels her along at a top speed of 23 knots. Wherever the owners cruise this summer, Masa will turn heads in every Mediterranean hotspot; watch this space Cannes, Monaco and St Tropez!

The Monaco Yacht Show 2014 – Set to be the biggest yet!

The Monaco Yacht Show – the world’s greatest homage to the world’s largest, wackiest and most incredible super yachts. 2013 saw another growth in the show with what critics called “the best selection yet” with a revival of the sailing yacht, and several new eco-friendly models such as the Arcadia 35 taking prime positions. We’ve just heard that 2014 is set to be even larger, with 14 new positions available to cater for an increase in demand.

The new locations will make full use of the new Monaco Yacht Club due for completion this year. 118 spaces are now available for up to 120 metre yachts, with an average length per berth of well over 50 metres. The organisers are also allowing for an increase in exhibitors, adding 400 square metres for stands.

Brand New 2013 Heesen Super Yacht: CRAZY ME

We are always excited when we hear about the release of a brand new super yacht, especially when it comes from the Heesen Shipyard. Founded in 1978, Heesen has become one of the leading yacht builders, synonymous with excellent build quality, elegance and impressive design features. The latest release from Heesen's Oss facility is the YN 16250, a 50m all-aluminium constructed semi-displacement super yacht, which has been christened Crazy Me.

Her new owner is a complete visionary, pushing the design boundaries and creativity of the Heesen team to create one of the most advanced super yachts yet. Gary Grant was responsable for the striking exterior lines, achieving his signature swoosh from bow to stern. Another impressive design feature sees the use of formed glass, which provides stunning aesthetics as well as fantastic sound insulation throughout the yacht.

Italian designer Christiano Gatto was appointed for the interior design, creating a linear and contemporary design, which seeks to enhance the space on board. One of our favourite design features is the glass bottomed pool, enhancing light to the aft deck below. In terms of performance, the maximum speed is 21 knots at half load. She will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 staterooms, including one owner's suite, a VIP Cabin and four double cabins. She is due to be delivered in June 2013.
