Luxury Yachts in the Maldives for Christmas and New Year

In early 2014, the Maldives government introduced new regulations for foreign visiting yachts. Previously, foreign yachts were only allowed to stay for 90 days, but this has now been extended to 180 days or more, making it a more attractive cruising destination for large charter yachts. Here are a a couple of yachts which will be in the Maldives later this year.

Having moved to Phuket 18 months ago after a full refit and completing several successful charters in Southeast Asia, this beautiful Broward 121 will be making its way to the Maldives in December. Captain Krill has many years of experience chartering in the Mediterranean and Caribbean and has thoroughly enjoyed his first year in Asia; now he is looking forward to exploring the amazing clear waters of the Maldives.

Trinity superyacht KERI LEE III is one of the most luxurious charter yachts to be found anywhere, with an amazing collection of water toys and entertainment facilities….2 jet skis, a gym, 10 person jacuzzi, sea bobs, kayaks, game fishing tender, water skis, dive compressor and a movie theatre in the sky lounge! She has spent the last 12 months in Thailand, is heading to Myanmar and Sri Lanka for October-November, and then moving south to the Maldives in December, before returning to the Mediterranean for the summer of 2015.

Leo DiCaprio Living the High Life on TOPAZ at the World Cup

The Fifa World Cup 2014 in Brazil got going with a bang last night as Neymar’s 2 goals guided Brazil to victory over Croatia, providing the hosts nation with the perfect start to their much anticipated campaign to become champions of the world once more.

Once the final whistle was blown and the party really got started, Hollywood superstar Leo DiCaprio seemed to care little about dodgy referees and angry Croatians as he sauntered back to the 482-foot super yacht TOPAZ.

DiCaprio has been keeping a low profile when out and about in Brazil but will have no such issues aboard the stunning 147m Lurssen. Owned by Sheikh Mansour, himself a football fan and owner of Manchester City Football Club, TOPAZ is the quintessence of luxury.

QUATTROELLE – The Latest Example of the Finest German Engineering

All over the Mediterranean things are starting to hot up for summer and what better way to enjoy the sun than on a brand new super yacht. German shipbuilder Lurssen have decided to kick the fun off early this year with the release of their new 88m yacht Quattroelle. Kevin’s Favourites at the Singapore Yacht Show 2014

The yachting industry in Asia is bigger than ever and well on its way to booming. With ever more yacht enthusiasts looking to explore the Far East in search of something new and exciting, more of the world’s most impressive yachts are making their way east. This was abundantly evident at the recent Singapore Yacht Show last week. Whilst not yet as big as some of the yacht shows in Monaco and Antibes for example, the Singapore Yacht Show is a great place to get aboard some truly amazing yachts with many yachts offering guided tours; giving you the chance to see what super yachts are all about.

In our preview blog a couple of weeks ago, CLOUD 9 was touted as one of the potential highlights of the show. Boatbooking’s charter expert in Asia, Kevin, was lucky enough to look around her and reports that she most certainly lives up to the billing. Massive amounts of light streams into an indulgently spacious yacht whilst the garage stocks every water toy known to man.

Kevin has also been raving about KERI LEE III. The owner’s wife is an interior designer and, judging from the finish found on board, she won’t be out of pocket any time soon. Better resembling a grand mansion than a yacht, KERI LEE III is decorated impeccably with original artwork, French antiques as well as glorious marble linings and the most inviting of salons.

The 2014 Singapore Yacht Show is going to be BIG – find out more here!

This year’s Singapore Yacht Show is set to be the biggest ever with several top Super Yachts confirmed to be on show as more and more of them are choosing to charter in South East Asia. Boatbookings.com Charter Director Kevin is preparing for the show which starts on the 10th April and finishes on the 13th April, here are some of his top picks and yachts to look out for.

VERTIGO

At 67m VERTIGO is one of the largest and most imposing Super Yachts in the world. VERTIGO is another awesome creation from Alloy Yachts, she has already won several prestigious accolades such as Sailing Yacht of the Year at the World Super Yacht Awards. With a contemporary and totally unique interior and unbelievable exterior spaces, VERTIGO is surely everybody’s charter dream. EXUMA

EXUMA is a futuristic Super Yacht and has been designed for discovery and exploration with a shallow hull, her extensive list of water toys even includes an amphibious jeep! EXUMA is currently on a world tour and will be featuring at this year’s show before cruising Indonesia, the Seychelles and Tanzania in the coming months.
