17,000 islands in the heart of Southeast Asia, all year round sailing on traditional sailing vessels, stunning sunsets behind impressive volcanoes reaching into the sky. Experience all this with your Bali yacht charter!
The 5th Singapore Yacht Show took place between the 23rd and 26th April at One 15 Marina Club, and Boatbookings were on hand to see view the finest yachts for charter in southeast Asia.
As the show opened on Thursday afternoon, the heavens opened to give visitors a traditional welcome to Singapore! But the weather wasn’t going to stop the show. In among the usual lifestyle exhibitors of fast cars, jewellers, property developers and private jets, the local and international Southeast Asia charter yachts were on display in order for the Boatbookings Team to step onboard and get to know these yachts and their crews inside out.
No, this is not the name of a new super yacht, and we have not gone all Bruce Lee on you!
The Komodo Dragon is the worlds largest living species of lizard, sometimes growing up to three meters in length, and is found on the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Flores and Rinca, one of the best sailing areas in Southeast Asia.
Arguably one of the most luxurious yachts currently cruising Southeast Asia, AUSTRALIS now has a fantastic price reduction for charters now in Phuket or elsewhere by arrangement. Following our viewing of her at the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show we cannot recommend her highly enough! Her re-fitted, cool and modern interior provides space for up to 12 guests in 5 light cabins. This combined with professional British captain and his excellent crew make for a fantastic charter experience. See more details and review of our viewing of AUSTRALIS here.
Our specialist based in Southeast Asia has second-to-none knowledge of the local cruising areas and looks forward to helping you organise your luxury yacht charter in Thailand. Australis will be back on the French Riviera next summer, awaiting your enquiries!
Kevin, our Charter Director based in Southeast Asia attended the Phuket International Boat Show and has given us his review of this year’s turnout. Established in 2003, PIMEX has grown into a well-establish marine and lifestyle show in Southeast Asia’s tropical hub of yachting, Phuket. This year the show was held at Phuket’s five-star Royal Phuket Marina with a specially constructed exhibition space overlooking the in-water display. This sublime setting provided fine dining and amazing views of the many luxury yachts.
This year Kevin was particularly impressed with one of Boatbookings’s favorite charter yachts, the Lagoon 620, on display at the Phuket International Boat Show. Based in Langkawi, Malaysia, this yacht is available for charters between Langkawi and Phuket all year round. This is a 2011 yacht but is only used by the owner a couple of weeks each year, so this charter catamaran is in almost pristine condition!
The Phuket Boat Show gets Wider and Wider
Don’t you mean bigger and bigger we hear you ask?? No….Wider and Wider!
Probably the most innovative yacht at the show and showcasing in Thailand for the first time, the Wider 42 was part of the in-water display. If you feel that you don’t already have enough space on board, this fast and sleek power boat expands on either side whilst at anchor to provide extra storage or sunbathing space! Kevin reliably informs us at Boatbookings that 18 sqm makes a astonishing difference to the deck space.
Flying the German Flag!
This is a 2013 yacht and is only in it’s first Phuket charter season, having arrived in Thailand in late 2013. There is also a full range of larger Bavaria bareboat charter yachts to choose from in Phuket.
More cats in Phuket!

Their in water display included this lovely Salina 48 Evolution!
