The Nafplion Show 2014 – The opening weekend

The Nafplion Show, organised by the newly funded Greek Yachting Association, started yesterday. Set in the picturesque little town of Nafplion, 1,5hrs drive from  Athens, the show looks like it will be a huge success, as on its inaugural year it has attracted a record number of participants. Over 8o foreign brokers are in attendance, numbers very rarely seen at a Greek yacht show, along with 50 crewed yachts all of a very high standard according to our Charter Director Lambros.

The organisation is excellent – Lambros says that in his experience, the only show that can match Nafplion in terms of organised activities for brokers is Antigua, famed for lavish dinners and the most enticing activities.

The starting ceremony took place yesterday night in the medieval castle overlooking the port of Poros, we’ll keep you up to date with our favourites in the show. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information on the Nafplion Show or chartering in Greece.

The International Multihull Boat Show 2014 – Showcasing the Best of the Catamaran Industry

Catamarans provide the best of both worlds. Combining the joy and grace of sailing with the space and luxury of a super yacht, there are few things better than lying on the trapeze of a gliding cat while the sea rushes beneath you. If the thought of this appeals to you, some of the finest cats in the world will be available for you to feast your eyes upon at The International Multihull Boat Show in Montpellier from 23rd to 27th April.

MAVERICK, a beautiful Sunreef 70 is one of the finest examples of crewed catamarans. With a beam of over 10 metres, she is indulgently spacious both on deck and inside, not to mention that she looks utterly majestic under sail.

Simply decorated but with a splash of colour, the salon is wonderfully elegant and comfortable. With natural light streaming in through large windows on all sides, there is a light and refreshing atmosphere on board.

Pass through the glass doors to the stern and you will find yourself on the stunning aft deck. Whether you are sipping a cocktail with friends in the evening or dining al fresco while the sea breeze brushes through your hair, you will feel totally at ease out here.

The forward deck is where many catamarans come into their own and MAVERICK is no exception. Lazy afternoons will melt away while you lie back and soak up the sun in this vast space. Lie back with a book on the luxuriously comfortable sun pad or spread out on one of the two trampolines, there is plenty of space for friends and family alike to relax and escape the real world.

Best in Show at Asia’s Finest Yacht Shows

Asia is quietly becoming one of the most sought after destinations for yachting enthusiasts. This is reflected in the ever increasing number of boat shows which will be taking place in the Far East this year. 1,000’s of yachts from the best boat makers will be on show throughout the continent at the Shanghai International Boat Show, the Hainan Boat Show in Sanya and the very first Taiwan Yacht Show amongst others.

 shanghai

The most established of these is in Singapore and the much awaited 2014 Singapore Yacht Show finally gets under way tomorrow. Singapore is a country where doing things by half don’t really seem to be an option. Hundreds travel far and wide for the Singapore Grand Prix which is consistently a highlight on the F1 calendar. This is far from being Singapore’s only attraction however and while Lewis Hamilton and the finest drivers in the world are off strutting their stuff elsewhere, the Singapore Yacht Show promises to be an event of special magnificence.

 singapore

Some of the world’s largest and most spectacular yachts will be on show and few are more impressive than CLOUD 9. 69m of the most supreme luxury, she is one of the finest example of what there is on offer at the pinnacle of the Super Yachting industry.

 cloud 9

Boasting an impressive 500 square metres of living space over 5 decks, her volume of indulgent luxury is quite overwhelming. It is hard to pick individual highlights but the bridge deck is breath-taking. The salon on this level converts into a magnificent home cinema and large circular doors at the stern open to allow you to enjoy stunning panoramic views while enjoying a dining experience like no other.

 interior

The sundeck is also particularly impressive. Up on the top deck, featuring a wet bar, a further dining area, a jacuzzi and a huge sun bed, lazy afternoons will melt away while you enjoy the sunshine in wonderful splendour.

Away from CLOUD 9, visitors will be flocking around ROYAL ALBATROS. This, the largest charter yacht in Singapore is a majestic example of a traditional sailing yacht.

royal

Reminiscent of some of the stunning ships seen in The Pirates of the Caribbean, ROYAL ALBATROS is truly unique. A traditional square rig hoists 22 sails which makes her look just amazing. Rest assured, however that you will not be sleeping in hammocks and battling scurvy on board as per the pirates of old. Air conditioned throughout, she is luxuriously comfortable and with 2 bars, a stunning grand salon and state of the art lighting and audio-visual technology, she possesses all that you need for an unforgettable charter.

The Monaco Yacht Show 2014 – Set to be the biggest yet!

The Monaco Yacht Show – the world’s greatest homage to the world’s largest, wackiest and most incredible super yachts. 2013 saw another growth in the show with what critics called “the best selection yet” with a revival of the sailing yacht, and several new eco-friendly models such as the Arcadia 35 taking prime positions. We’ve just heard that 2014 is set to be even larger, with 14 new positions available to cater for an increase in demand.
