Discovering the Beauty of Sardinia on your Luxury Yacht Charter! – Part 2 – La Maddalena

La Maddalena Archipelago is one of the most spectacular highlights of Sardinia. Consisting of 62 islands and islets with 180 km of coast and covering a surface area of 5,134 hectares it provides a plethora of inlets and coves to explore on your charter. Every single island is enclosed in a cocoon of national marine conservation extending 300 – 500 meters into the ocean and makes up the national park of the archipelago, La Maddalena. This insures that La Maddalena is one of the most unique places in the Mediterranean and will continue to be so.

Why not stop off at the island, La Maddalena, the only one inhabited in this Archipelago, and dine on its fantastic Mediterranean cuisine at Locanda del Mirto? Then you could sail across to the island of Caprera where Giuseppe Garibaldi spent the last years of his life and visit his house and tomb. The lack of people you will see on your trip around this Island chain only serves to make the charter all the more special.

Budelli Island is also a must see on your charter and is just one of many examples of this areas natural beauty! The striking cliffs on Razzoli Island that supposedly resemble Henry Moore’s sculptures and La Spiaggia Rosa, more commonly known as the Pink Beach both epitomize La Maddalena National Park.

If you are interested in chartering in Sardinia why not charter CARLA – a Lagoon 400, accommodating up to 11 guests in 4 cabins, its low draft and large amounts of space make this Catamaran a perfect platform for visiting those secluded coves and sandy bays. Take a Day Trip on the French Riviera to Hotel du Cap Eden Roc, Cap d’Antibes

With so many people flocking to the French Riviera every summer, whether they choose Cannes, St Tropez, Nice or Monaco, it’s always nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the towns and enjoy a bit of time to yourself. The best way to escape the busy beaches and jam-packed streets is to take to the sea! A day charter from Cannes gives you the chance to enjoy the French Riviera from a different perspective, you can cruise along the coast and enjoy the summer sun.

Starting in Cannes, you can explore the Iles des Lérins, the forested islands just off Cannes, which are a perfect spot for a dip in the Mediterranean sea. Moving on from here, why not head to Cap d’Antibes for a fantastic lunch. One restaurant that comes highly recommended in Cap d’Antibes is Keller Plage, and another popular choice is the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc. The hotel offers both the Eden-Roc Restaurant and the Eden-Roc Grill & Lounge Bar. From here, you can enjoy stunning views across the Mediterranean, overlooking the Iles de Lérins, while sipping a cocktail or enjoying a range of Mediterranean style fine dining or some light tapas dishes.

A perfect yacht for exploring the islands and heading over to Cap d’Antibes is the Sessa C 48. Not only is she a gorgeous yacht to
look at, she is also a fabulous yacht to be on board! Built in 2012, she is a combines modern and stylish design with comfort and practicality. An Alternative Day Charter Yacht on the French Riviera

Many people associate the French Riviera with luxury motor yachts and super yachts, often forgetting that the West Mediterranean is home to some of the best sailing yachts and catamarans on the charter market. With the majority of monohulls and catamarans having a minimum charter duration of a week, what do you do if you are in town for a few days or only want a day charter?

French-Riviera-one-of-the-most-luxurious-destinations-in-the-world

At Boatbookings, we have developed great partnerships with a few suppliers to make day charters possible. Whether you want a luxury monohull from Antibes and Cannes, or a catamaran from Menton, it is now possible to experience the joy of a days sailing!

TATOUNE is one of our favourite options for a catamaran charter from Menton and Monaco. This luxurious Lagoon 400, skippered by the very experienced Wilfred, accommodates up to 8 guests. A typical day on TATOUNE would include a trip down the coast past the beautiful Villefranche to Cannes with a luxury pic-nic between the Iles des Lerins. A slow cruise back to Menton with regular swimming stops around St Jean Cap Ferrat will ensure a very memorable day out. If you think that you would like to book a weeks catamaran charter but have never done so before, this opportunity is priceless for giving you a feel for chartering.

MOJITO is a very good alternative for a luxury monohull charter. This crewed monohull does both day and weekly yacht charters, providing guests with great flexibility. She has a wonderful crew, who will do everything in their power to ensure a successful day at sea. There is nothing better than cruising slowly down the Riviera with stops at Esterel and Saint-Raphael.
