Returning to the charter market after a 5 metre extension, ICON is the Boatbookings super yacht of the week. With her extra 5 metres ICON now offers a pool on the main deck for cooling off in ultimate style, as well as a voluminous beach club enjoying light from the pool’s sparkling glass floor panels. It’s in the name that this yacht will always be iconic, but she truly shows what a massive difference a little space makes. Having been lucky enough to visit ICON at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2013, one of the most talked about yachts on display, we were wowed by the huge volumes, open spaces but sense of privacy available. Icon yachts launched ICON in 2010, with the critics wowed at her ability to offer world-class volumes whilst maintaining a sleek exterior. Following her re-fit and extension she now offers the same beautifully clean lines and a new beautifully contemporary interior.

Myanmar Tourism Opens Up – Perfect for Yachting
The Myanmar tourism industry continues to develop. Last month, the Myanmar government announced that it will launch an e-visa system for people arriving to Yangon International Airport. For people looking to do some traveling in Burma, then heading to Kawthaung for a yacht charter in the Mergui, this is a big improvement. Hopefully this system will expand to other points of entry as well in the future.
For those looking for “final frontier” sailing destinations, they don’t come any better than the Mergui Archipelago of Myanmar – 800 uninhabited islands almost untouched by humans, clear blue waters and not a footprint in the sand. This truly is one of the world’s most unspoilt destinations. You can sail for days and not see another yacht, although more and more luxury yachts are making Myanmar part of their schedule.
The amazing KERI LEE III will be there in October and November this year.

If you like historic charter yachts, these two classic yachts from the 1940’s, CALISTO and MAID MARION II, are based in Phuket, and available for charters in Myanmar.

The best sailing season for Myanmar is November to April each year, so be sure to look at Boatbooking’s selection of yachts for charter in the Mergui Archipelago. Stay tuned for more yachts available for charter in Myanmar.
Luxury Yachts in the Maldives for Christmas and New Year
In early 2014, the Maldives government introduced new regulations for foreign visiting yachts. Previously, foreign yachts were only allowed to stay for 90 days, but this has now been extended to 180 days or more, making it a more attractive cruising destination for large charter yachts. Here are a a couple of yachts which will be in the Maldives later this year.
Having moved to Phuket 18 months ago after a full refit and completing several successful charters in Southeast Asia, this beautiful Broward 121 will be making its way to the Maldives in December. Captain Krill has many years of experience chartering in the Mediterranean and Caribbean and has thoroughly enjoyed his first year in Asia; now he is looking forward to exploring the amazing clear waters of the Maldives.

Trinity superyacht KERI LEE III is one of the most luxurious charter yachts to be found anywhere, with an amazing collection of water toys and entertainment facilities….2 jet skis, a gym, 10 person jacuzzi, sea bobs, kayaks, game fishing tender, water skis, dive compressor and a movie theatre in the sky lounge! She has spent the last 12 months in Thailand, is heading to Myanmar and Sri Lanka for October-November, and then moving south to the Maldives in December, before returning to the Mediterranean for the summer of 2015.

There are more and more luxury yachts based in the Maldives, and you can see a selection of them on the Boatbookings Maldives page.
