See St Vincent and the Grenadines this Spring!
Picture this: clear skies and seas and few people to share them with. Escape the busy islands of the Caribbean when you take time to explore St Vincent and the Grenadines on your yacht. Boatbookings have a sample St Vincent and the Grenadines itinerary for an 8 day charter, that also allows you to visit Grenada.
Your 8 day charter allows plenty of time for you to explore the less commercial islands of the Caribbean. Splash around in the waters from your yacht’s swim platform and sunbathe on deck. With plenty of sea life to see – think wild turtles – and hikes to reach beautiful views of the surrounding islands and waterfalls, you can appreciate the more natural elements of the islands.
The islands may be quieter and less built up, but that isn’t to say they’re dull and lacking in bars and restaurants. You can head to Basil’s Bar for an exclusive evening dancing under the stars and Dennis’ Hideaway for Caribbean inspired seafood, as well as dining on your yacht.
See the complete St Vincent and the Grenadines itinerary for the full 8 day example of how you can spend your yacht charter, and see a complete guide to charter yachts in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Festival in London
With the world of charter closely focused on the modern sailing yacht it is easy to forget the ships of years gone by still sailing our high seas. This weekend saw the arrival of the largest fleet of Tall Ships to visit London in a quarter of a century, throwing the Thames back in time as around 50 tall ships, barges and traditional vessels decorated its waters.
With their towering sails billowing in the wind, the ships set sail from Falmouth racing to the Isle of Wight before heading up the River Thames for the Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta.
Ships from around the world came to take part in this event including the Shtandart, a modern replica of a Russian navy flagship built for Peter the Great in 1703.
Also on show was Tenacious, the largest wooden tall ship of her kind which is operated by the Jubilee Sailing Trust and Telca who is almost 100 years old. The ships are moored at four sites along the Thames – Woolwich, Maritime Greenwich, Greenwich Peninsula and Canary Wharf and while based in the capital, they can be viewed from the land as well as on board.

The festival will end on Tuesday with a grand parade of sail down the river as the ships head back to the open sea for their onward voyages.
Has this made you want to sail the seas? With the upcoming Voiles de St Tropez and Cannes Royal Regatta you can try sailing at speed and get some hands on experience of racing! Contact Boatbookings to organise your own sailing charter today.
Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show 2014
Heading into its 37th year, the Cannes Boat Show is back under its new name, the ‘Cannes Yachting Festival.’ With over 580 boats on show from 9th September until 14th September, it should be a busy week for all you yachting lovers! The majority will be on display in the Vieux port of Cannes, but don’t miss out on the Port Pierre Canto side where the larger yachts can be found; there is a free shuttle service between the two.
One of the highlights this year will be OCEAN PARADISE – a 55m Benetti sleeping up to 12 guests in 6 elegant cabins. Owner, Singaporean Investor Adrian Lee’s love of contemporary styling is to thank for the stunning interior where the theme is of Zen gardens stylishly mixing with carbon fiber. She offers an extensive range of toys from her original space invaders machines on the bridge deck saloon to the latest sea bobs.
After the Cannes show, head over to Monaco from the 24th until 27th September for the Monaco Yacht Show. The world’s number 1 boat show will be showcasing 115 super yachts from 25m – 100m and around 30 luxury tenders. With an increase in the demand for new builds over 100m, the Monaco Yacht Show, in its 24th year, will be the biggest yet! You will also find an extended exhibition hosting 500 of the world’s most refined suppliers in the industry.
One of the stars of the show will be Eddie Jordan’s incredible Motor Yacht BLUSH. Launched in 2014, this Sunseeker 47m is sure to turn heads. Reportedly costing €25m, no expense has been spared on this beautiful flagship Sunseeker.
She accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 deluxe cabins. Her immense sundeck was created with entertainment in mind, ready to house the best parties on the Riviera with her tremendous dining area and bar. Her sublime interior exudes both style and space, with floor to ceiling glass windows throughout. Her chic dining room is fitted with side patio doors and balconies offering magnificent views of your surroundings
