Green Chartering: Offset Your Carbon Emissions

One of the hesitations that many have about chartering a luxury yacht is the carbon emissions that their yacht will create. The option to “green charter”, gives you the chance to offset your carbon emissions, purchasing carbon credits at the same time as booking your charter.

If this is something you’d be interested in doing, please do mention it to a broker when you make an enquiry. You can work out how much carbon credits would cost for your particular yacht using our great “Carbon Credit Calculator”.

Alternatively, for those that are still hesitant, we highly recommend chartering a catamaran, or monohull sailboat, as they use much less fuel than a motorboat. Chartering a Luxury Yacht in Fajardo, Part I

Fajardo was first founded in 1760 and was one of the locations used by the Americans to invade Puerto Rico. Nowadays, it is the home of all recreational boating activities in Puerto Rico and is the gateway to the stunning Culebra, Vieques and both the American and Brisith Virgin Islands. Located on the eastern coast, Fajardo is home to the largest marina in the Caribbean (Puerto Del Rey), as well as some of the most impressive bio-luminescent bays and diving hotspots. Charter a Luxury Crewed Catamaran Out Of Belize City – Part II

Following on from Part I of our Belize blogs, and having introduced a sample itinerary and the destination, we give you some ideas of the best yachts to charter in Belize.

Two of our favourite yachts for charter in Belize are both Lagoon 500s. Lagoon catamarans are a part of Beneteau Yachts, and are a fantastic brand of catamaran, offering both luxury and comfort in spacious accommodation. Catamarans are perfect for first time sailors, as they provide stability on the water, and a space that you would often struggle to find in a monohull of the same length.

DORIS is the first of our Lagoon 500s, she is a 2007 model, with 3 cabins accommodating for up to 6 guests. Her crew of 2 is great and for sailing enthusiasts, they would love to let you help sail!

Our second suggestion is the beautiful AMURA, which is also a 2007 Lagoon 500, which accommodates 8 guests in her four well appointed cabins. Her interior is gorgeous and bright, though the use of large windows, which not only allow the sunlight of Belize to shine through into the yacht, but allow you to gaze out onto the crystal blue waters surrounding you.

An Insight into the Miami Boat Show 2013, Part I

The Miami International Boat Show is Florida’s largest annual event, showcasing more than 3,000 boats and 2,000 exhibitors in three locations for 4 days from the 14th February. The Miami Beach Convention Centre, the Sea Isle Marina and Miamarina at Bayside will host the event which is often regarded as one of the best places for a preview of the upcoming yachting season. So what should you expect from the show? No matter whether you are looking for the latest powerboats, sailboats, ribs, marine electronics and accessories, look no further than this years show. There really is something for everyone! If you are not looking to buy something, the show is still worth a visit, thanks to the numerous seminars where you are bound to acquire knowledge. Tickets start at $20 per day for adults, with a 5 day pass at $85 and kids going free with a paying adult. So if you are in town and looking for something to do, don’t miss the chance to go to this show and see everything that it has to offer.

Make a Splash at The Baths when you Charter a Luxury Yacht in Virgin Gorda!

Virgin Gorda is the third largest of the British Virgin Islands, and a popular destination for anybody who is looking to charter in the Caribbean. Said to have been named the 'Fat Virgin' by Christopher Columbus, the island's profile on the horizon looks like a fat woman lying on her side. If you're looking to charter a yacht to explore Virgin Gorda, The Baths are a necessary stop-off point.

The Baths are situated about 2 km south off the main town Spanish Town at the southern tip of the island between Spring Bay and Devil's Bay. The beach here shows evidence of how the BVI were formed through volcanic activity. White sand beaches are scattered with huge granite boulders, which create spectacular grottos with sea pools reflecting the light that shines down on them. The boulders form an inviting maze, which you can clamber through as you explore. The Baths provide an excellent chance to marvel at the wonders the world can create, so taking your yacht around to view them will leave you stunned. Along with such beauty on land, snorkelling in the warm waters will also amaze you. Around The Baths you will find a great range of fish and rays; if you're lucky you may even spot a herd of seahorses in the clear blue sea.
