Bitter End Yacht Club in North Sound, Virgin Gorda, Unveils their Brand New, State-of-the-Art, Quarterdeck Marina this July

The Bitter End Yacht Club (BEYC) in the North Sound of Virgin Gorda is an exceedingly popular destination in the British Virgin Islands for both charter and private yachts. more. Tender docks are larger, catamaran docks are wider, and electricity is easily accessed.

Richard Starkey of Meridian Construction Company is the General Contractor on the project.  Noted architect Peter Brill penned the designs. Both worked closely with ownership and management to fulfill their goals. According to Starkey, “the project here at Bitter End will fit the needs of the clientele perfectly. It’s such a lovely location, and the new facility will blend in nicely.”

A dazzling 2011 Leopard 44 will be available for charter out of Tortola, BVI beginning this November. This innovative sailing catamaran features a powerful engine, excellent electronics package, bimini hard top, high capacity water and fuel tanks, electric windlass and more.

The acclaimed brand won the Cruising World Boat of The Year and Sail Magazine Best Boats awards in the Cruising Multihull and Overall Import Boat of the Year categories. The Leopard 44 is ideally designed to delight bareboat charterers with excellent seaworthiness, cruising performance and spacious accommodation.

The most significant modification on the new Leopard 44 is the addition of the open forward cockpit with direct access from the saloon. This feature offers increased visibility, ventilation, and increased living space in an ergonomic and safe design. This lounging area has a fixed overhead bimini for protection against the elements. The forward door with large portlights in the windscreen allows for through ventilation in the saloon, even during a tropical downpour, where the forward bimini prevents water entry.

Jeanneau 54 DS 2010 just entered the charter market and now is available out of Newport R.I. The Jeanneau 54 is a stunning luxury yacht designed as the flagship of the Jeanneau fleet. This beautiful, spacious yacht is fully air-conditioned and features contemporary interiors of rich woods, teak, sumptuous leathers and first-class amenities.  This seaworthy monuhull accommodates eight guests in four cabins.

72′ Custom Ketch Rigged Luxury Sailing Yacht AYACANORA: A Real Dream Yacht

AYACANORA exudes romance inside and out. Her namesake, the beautiful and willful heroine of the Charles Kingsley classic Westward Ho! perfectly captures her ambiance. AYACANORA, a 72 foot custom ketch rigged luxury sailing yacht, originally launched at Littlehampton Sussex, England in 1981. About three years earlier, Tony Moore had started a small business in the workshop next door. He recalls “a man and an Alsation were building a boat, a big boat, he was an interesting and clever chap, and I talked to him now and then, really wondering if he would ever realize his dream.  I guess about three or four years later, the dream came true.”  Archival photos, courtesy of Tony Moore, show the builder, his companion Alsation, and a crowd of well wishers on hand for the launch. It is quite unusual that, despite changes of ownership, AYACANORA retains both her original majesty and her name.

Lovely interiors aboard AYACANORA invoke the traditional elegance of the English country cottage. The formal dining area features expansive banquette seating at the stylish, high gloss, mahogany table. Two beautifully decorated queen sized, ensuite cabins accommodate four guests. The unusually spacious master, located aft, includes a charming built in settee, as does the renovated forward cabin.

Whether guests chose to relax and laze in a hammock or opt for the thrill of ocean sports, AYACANORA offers many options. New Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Virgin Gorda Welcomes Superyachts

The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda Marina (YCCS Marina) was recently inaugurated in North Sound, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. This magnificent property was designed as a facility for megayachts, their owners and charter guests, and provides a very private and exclusive destination for high profile clientele.

Location is a critical consideration for superyachts that have unique requirements of size, and suitability. Facilities have been extremely limited, particularly in the British Virgin Islands where no facilities existed on Virgin Gorda prior to the construction of YCCS. The world-class marina is protected from prevailing winds, ocean swells and surges, and offers 38 slips for yachts up to 328 feet in length with a maximum 30-foot draft in a naturally deep location.

The YCCS Virgin Gorda draws the international sailing and yachting community to enjoy top-level international sailing events such as the Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous that took place last month.
