Bastia is located in the northeast of Corsica, just south of Cap Corse, and is the second largest town on the island. Bastia has an attractive Old Port and a fort with long ramparts, which offers excellent views of the city.
The Place St. Nicolas the heart of the city, and it is surrounded by plenty of cafes for a relaxed lunch or break. You will also be able to shop for many of the local specialities such as buy local jams, cheeses, sausages and honey.
Bastia also offers several nearby beaches; pebble to the north, sandy to the south including the famous Mariana beach that borders the Biguglia bird reserve.
