News and Reviews at The Palma Superyacht Show 2014!

From one yacht show to another this week… today sees the beginning of the Superyacht show in Palma, Mallorca. A brokerage and charter show, there’s several well-known charter boats on display with some old favourites and some new to the charter market in Spain. This is only the second edition of the superyacht show, and it has returned following the success of the Palma Superyacht Brokerage and Charter Show in May 2013. This show will continue to only exhibit yachts of an impressive 24 metres and above.

First up is a new addition to the charter market in Spain, POWDERMONKEY. Our team on the French Riviera were gutted to see her leave her prime position in Antibes last year, having received a Spanish charter license, heading to Palma for the upcoming season. This luxury crewed motor yacht offers unrivalled value for money, accommodating up to 10 guests at a very competitive €49,000 per week high season. She’s a fun family boat with spacious cabins, classic interior, fun splashes of colour throughout and an extensive water sports inventory. POWDERMONKEY has had multiple technical and visual upgrades meaning she’s in pristine condition ready for this summer.

Next up is BENITA BLUE from Evolution Yachts in Australia. She combines the weird and wonderful to create extensive space of a much larger yacht. Her sleek, outlandish and bright exterior colouring is contrasted by the quiet cool of her neutral interior. Whilst the owners of BENITA BLUE are keen to move on before the summer season arrives, we’re confident she’ll be back on the charter market in time for high season in the Mediterranean. Again she’s a perfect family boat with two doubles, two twins and a convertible office for an extra two berths.

You can wake up in Palma and be in Ibiza or Formentera in just a few hours! Below, you will find the favourite yachts of Nieves Morales, charter manager and Ben Sutton, charter broker from this years show.

Her decks are simply superb, with a sunbathing area on the bow, dining area to the aft, as well as a private area on her Flybridge. The deciding factor that made this our favourite luxury charter yacht on show was the crew.

Beautiful decks on board TIGER LILY

A charter boat can be in great condition and offer the latest toys, but it is the crew who will leave their lasting impression on your experience and memories.  Hanns had everything and more that you would look for in a captain. He is extremely experienced, possessing thorough knowledge of the Mediterranean, from Turkey to Spain. Not only was Hanns extremely professional, but he was also charismatic and had a way about him, which ensured that his clients automatically felt at home on board. If you fancy chartering a luxury yacht in Ibiza for a week this summer, look no further than TIGER LILY.
