Water Toys For Your Luxury Yacht Charter Part II

Following on from the incredible water toys described in Part I, we plan to follow suit with two more of the coolest water toys for your yacht! Water toys are often a defining part of a charter, if two yachts are identical, the only two things that will differ (other than the interior) are crew and water toys, which we believe are both very important.

Flyboard

Have you ever really wanted to pretend you were a dolphin? No? Well you might just want to after seeing the Flyboard. We are in absolute awe and we’re looking forward to upcoming seasons where lots of charter yachts have these water toys – because we know they’d be an absolute hit! Available from as little as £4,100 for personal purchasers, we know this is a great buy – maybe even an extravagant Christmas present if it suits!

An option of  a yacht that has lots of water toys is always a great choice, which is why we recommend this fantastic Sunseeker 82, available for charter in Cannes, Antibes, Juan les Pins and Golfe Juan, at a rate of €32400 per week plus expenses. For an 82 foot yacht, she has plenty of water toys for your charter, a tender with donuts and water skis, great fun for all the family!

If you’re looking for more water toys to be available during your charter on a slightly larger yacht, please do email all your enquiries to [email protected] and one of our Charter Specialists will get back to you very shortly! DENIKI – Luxury Super Yacht of the Week

The vast portfolio of Luxury Super Yachts that are available for charter makes the choice of picking a weekly favourite extremely difficult. However, DENIKI is quite stunning in every regard so that is why she is this weeks choice! Currently on show at the 2012 Antigua Yacht Show, DENIKI is a 52.3m Amels Super Yacht, accommodating up to 10 guests in 5 luxurious cabins. She combines both sleek lines and contemporary styling with a bold use of colour, making her extremely striking.

Each of the cabins are decorated with a different colour scheme, and the master suite is decorated with an African theme, which is such a unique feature of the yacht and adds to DENIKI's character. She also has on board a steam room, gym and sauna, decorated beautifully with mosaics. The contemporary art décor is bright and colourful, and shows off the attention to detail in DENIKI's design.

An all-important factor of a charter is of course the food, and DENIKI's chefs Ben and Gareth produce super food throughout the day! When our Managing Director and Charter Director spent a day out on DENIKI, they dined on Kobe beef carpaccio with a truffle dressing and grilled mahi-mahi with sweet peppers. She has 11 crew who will attend to your every need to ensure that you have the best experience possible. Some of her best features are her water toys, including Tenders, Jet Skis, Water Skis, Wakeboards and towable toys – which are bound to keep both the adults and children entertained for hours. She also features a gym with all of the latest cardiovascular equipment and weights.

Deniki master cabinThe reason why she is this weeks favourite is due to her incredible outdoor space. She offers multiple sunbathing areas with large cushions to ensure maximum comfort. There are also beautiful areas to sip cocktails, such as their espresso martinis, whilst watching the sunset and outdoor al fresco dining areas, perfect for sampling the gastronomic treats from the chef.

She is available for charter in the Mediterranean in the summer, and the Caribbean during the winter season. You can also send your charter enquiries to [email protected], and our brokers will be delighted to provide you with more information.

Chartering a Crewed Catamaran in Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands

The smallest of the four main islands of the British Virgin Islands, Jost Van Dyke is found roughly 5 miles northwest of Tortola. The island covers just 4 square miles and is home to just under 300 inhabitants. However, it is thought that government population figure could be too high; some citizens who actually live in St. Thomas may have been included in the last census.

Jost Van Dyke has been a popular destination for those seeking adventure for more than 400 years. A Dutch settler/pirate (the man after whom the island is named) settled and used the island as a base in the 17th century, but it did not become really popular with tourists until recently. The island only got electricity in 1991 and proper roads were introduced a few years later. There are no banks, and many businesses shut down completely in September and October.

Jost van Dyke is home to many fantastic beaches. White Bay, which is protected by a huge reef that extends out from the beach, is the perfect point for snorkeling and scuba-diving. The bay is also fantastic for dolphin and whale watching. From mid-January until the end of March, the humpback whale passes through the waters just off Jost Van Dyke as part of its annual migration patterns.

The most frequented point on the island is Great Harbour, which is one of the busiest ports in the BVI. Great Harbour is lined with many small bars and beach restaurants, of which Foxy’s Tiki Bar is undoubtedly the most famous.

Philicianno Callwood (a.k.a “Foxy”), is known for strumming his guitar and singing humorous songs every afternoon, and ensuring that everyone has a great time if they arrive at his establishment. Foxy’s is also well known for hosting fantastic parties late into the night on Halloween and New Year’s Eve (known on the island as “Old Year’s Night”).

The Soggy Dollar Bar, which is found in White Bay, is another very famous beach bar and the birthplace of the Painkiller. The Painkiller is a rum cocktail that contains a blend of Pusser’s Rum mixed with 4 parts pineapple juice, 1 part cream of coconut and 1 part orange juice, served over the rocks with a generous amount of fresh nutmeg.

One of our most popular yacht charters in the BVI is the Privilege 615 Catamaran JERI. This fantastic crewed catamaran offers accommodation for up to 8 guests in an exquisite Owners Suite and 3 luxurious Guest Cabins.

If you would like some advice and help in planning a trip to the BVI, please  have a look at our BVI yacht charter guide or send us an email to [email protected], where one of our Brokers would be delighted to assist you.

Steve Jobs Custom Luxury Yacht Charter Feadship Unveiled

Just over a year after his death, the luxury motor yacht that Apple founder Steve Jobs commissioned and helped to design has finally been completed and launched in the Netherlands.Described by some as looking like a “floating Apple Store”, the custom built 80m (260ft) Feadship is named VENUS, after the Roman goddess of love.

Job’s biographer, Walter Isaacson, suggests that Jobs became almost obsessed with the yacht in the months leading up to his death. Jobs is quoted as saying “I know that it’s possible I will die and leave Laurene [his wife] with a half-built boat. But I have to keep going on it. If I don’t, it’s an admission that I’m about to die.”

Designed in collaboration with French product designer Philippe Starck, VENUS is now a posthumous testament to the sleek and crisp white designs that became synonymous with Apple during Job’s time as head of the company. While Starck denies that there is any relation between the design of this yacht and Apple (he insists that the electronics company and a boat of this size are completely different), he does admit that VENUS is a Steve Jobs work”.

Jobs had asked the chief engineer of the Apple Stores to design a special glass that would allow 10-foot-high windows while also providing the necessary structural support. Apple also provided 7 24-inch iMac’s to be set up on the bridge of the yacht, among other Apple equipment.

The Jobs’ family reportedly attended the launch of the yacht and gave a customised iPod Shuffle to everybody who helped with the build, as a thank you for their ‘hard work and craftsmanship.’

With their ability to custom build yachts to exacting owners specifications, Feadship has been a major force creating the super yacht market as we know it today. The company has built over 200 yachts since it was founded in 1949, releasing an average of just 4 or 5 new yachts a year.

In addition to the Apple founder, Feadship has built a 200-foot yacht for Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen in 1996 as well as custom yachts for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic, founder of the Ford Motor Company Henry Ford, and Malcolm Forbes of Forbes magazine.
