Upbeat mood at the Annapolis Boat Show

Annapolis Boat ShowThe United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis has come to an end and the energy during the show was positive and upbeat.
We heard of one broker who sold 6 new boats! Charter demand was brisk for the BVI and other Caribbean destinations this winter.  We also have added numerous fantastic new charter sailing yachts – both bareboat and crewed – to our every growing charter selection, in order to provide the best selection anywhere of sailing charter yachts in the USA, Caribbean and Bahamas.

Perhaps most importantly, in all of our conversations we never heard the “R Word” (recession) or mention of the “economic downturn”!

New Launch Destined for Charter: Feadship Luxury Superyacht 206ft. LADY BRITT

After chartering for decades the Scandinavian Owner of LADY BRITT finally decided on a Feadship of his own. With his extensive charter experience in mind, the Owner worked closely with the De Vries yard and De Voogt Naval Architects on the general arrangement and Redman Whiteley Dixon for the interiors. The emphasis was to meet his personal and family requirements and to create a superlative charter vessel.

The overall arrangement on LADY BRITT is dedicated to addressing the requirements of the most discerning yacht charter clients. Six spacious guest suites are located on the lower deck, two of which can be converted into one full-beam VIP stateroom, allowing two principle charterers comparably spacious and well-appointed staterooms. The master suite includes separate his and hers bathrooms and dressing rooms and a private study.

The main deck lounge and dining room comfortably accommodate fourteen guests who will be well attended to by the crew of 17. Other notable features include a wellness spa, Finnish sauna with private ocean access, outdoor cinema and voluminous exterior social areas.

Interiors incorporate elements of Swedish modernism with a Manhattan urban flair. The overall presentation is eminently stylish yet with the warmth and intimacy of Scandinavian design.

We will continue to provide updates on LADY BRITT, a top yacht that is certain to be exceedingly popular when she makes her charter debut. Boatbookings.com has exceptional yachts available for charter on our website at:  Super and Mega Luxury Yacht Charter

Pumpkin Soup Recipe from Mrs. Bain and BEYC

In the British Virgin Islands the locals and lucky yachtsmen savor autumn flavors with a unique Caribbean flair. At the Bitter End Yacht Club seasonal fare includes Mrs. Bain’s scrumptious pumpkin soup, and the chef is kindly providing us with her special recipe.

Mrs. Bain's Pumpkin Soup

Ingredients:

1 chopped onion

5 celery stalks, sliced

2 carrots, sliced

5 pounds fresh pumpkin

1-teaspoon beef base

1-teaspoon chicken base

2 cloves of garlic

1-teaspoon cinnamon

1-teaspoon black pepper

1-gallon water

Preparation:

Peel the pumpkin, cut into pieces and steam until tender.

In a large pot, place the pumpkin, and remaining ingredients in the water and boil until very soft. Remove from heat and let cool. Once the soup has cooled enough to handle, place in a blender and puree. You might need to do this in batches.

After pureeing, pour though a sieve to take out any lumps. Adjust seasoning to taste; add a dollop of sour cream, if desired. Enjoy!
