Genoa Yacht Show Featured Charter Yachts – KATYA, 2009 DELTA MARINE 151′

Katya Luxury YachtKatya represents one of those rare instances in which collaboration between the owners, their designer Jean-Claude Canestrelli, and the Delta Design Group, produced a yacht that is superbly luxurious, regally elegant, yet calming and comfortable. The stunning crème color of the ceilings and floors present a sinfully rich backdrop for dark figured khaya veneers, amboina and maple burls, and crotch mahogany woods.

The Owner named the yacht after their adopted Russian daughter, whom the crew adores, and portraits of her are hung throughout the yacht. Her beautifully feminine ensuite cabin is decorated in shades of pink with a bathroom of finely veined green marble, a space to delight any child. Outside areas beckon relaxation; lounging on the bow is a popular pastime with guests, or a leisurely luncheon at the outdoor table for twelve. Families will especially appreciate the well-stocked toy chest that inspires guests of any age to have fun on the water.

Katya accommodates 12 guests in five staterooms and, despite her stately presence, welcomes children onboard.

Monaco Grand Prix Date Change Provides Opportunity to Better Experience the Grand Prix and the Cannes Film Festival

Traditionally, the Monaco Grand Prix overlapped with the  final weekend of the Cannes Film Festival. So if you were interested in attending both, you were in a mad scramble up and down the Cote d’Azur coast to get to all the events you wanted, and invariably you’d miss several.

This year, however, the Monaco Grand Prix has been moved to the weekend before the end of the Film Festival 13 to 16 May 2010. The Cannes Film Festival will be held 12 – 23 May 2010 – so there will be plenty of premieres and parties to attend, but there won’t be a conflict on the final award night.

So, this year, you have a chance to really experience both events to their fullest – charter a yacht starting on the 13 to watch the warm ups and time trials and experience Monaco at its best, and then move over to anchor in Cannes to attend the movies and events, hob nob with the stars, and be there on the final night when the winners are announced!  Throughout, you can use the wifi and business facilities aboard your yacht to keep up with the office, and plan some client entertainment events to fully profit from this festive atmosphere!

Read more about Chartering for the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix – we have extensive information about the events, yachts available and how to go about chartering for these events.  And please contact us for a free proposal about how to enjoy these glamorous events!

If you can only make one of the events, the good news is that there should be a better selection of yachts for each event, because there will not be such a crush of demand for the one weekend.

Hot Yachts for the Monaco Show – TRIDENT- 65m Feadship

TRIDENT

Designed by Donald Starkey, TRIDENT is another of our favourites this year! Beautiful woods and marbles, every exotic stone you’ve never heard of, customized mosaic in every bathroom to match the exquisite marble with fossilized shells. Beautiful details unite the overall theme of texture and grain, fabric and cut. The range of materials used was breathtaking: travertine, granite, sandstone, limestone from the Sahara and onyx, then Japanese ash, grey stained pine, chestnut, flamed mahogany, rosewood, flame cut whitewashed chestnut, lacquered Japanese sen and olive. Fabrics included silks, leather, batik and suede. Even the venetian blinds were made of hand-stitched leather!

There is also great use of light, with huge windows and sliding water paper screens in the cabins and dining room. Here the long table is set lengthways, exaggerating the feeling of space and luxury. Even the carpets are a cut above, with the packed solid pile of New Zealand wool that literally bounced under foot. It is an absolute feast for the senses, with beautiful artwork, paintings and sculptures throughout. The main salon has a huge circular white leather sofa in two halves, which slides on air, so can be configured to suit the occasion, including cinema viewing, when a large screen emerges from the ceiling where it normally remains hidden.

One final piece de resistance is the central elevator. It is built of book-cut , wire- brushed travertine, so as well as the sheer beauty of the stone, having chips of silver and gold in the amber mesh, a mirrored sill on the floor and ceiling creates the effect of a central column that continues into eternity above and below . If that’s not enough, there is also great deck space, a gym, a Jacuzzi, and all the water toys you could wish for!
