Boatbookings.com knows that many of you love having a boat on your holidays, but that not everyone can or wants to spend their entire holiday afloat. More and more of our customers are renting for just a day or two. This is often the most memorable part of the holiday - swimming at a secluded beach away from the crowds, discovering a seaside restaurant, snorkeling, waterskiing and tubing - all for a fraction of the cost of renting a boat for a week. A day boat also allows you to experience the joy of boating before committing to an entire holiday aboard a boat!

Prior to Boatbookings.com, it was nearly impossible to find these great day boats - because most charter operators want to rent for only a week, (or if you did find one the price was so high that you knew something wasn't right). But we've scoured the ports for operators and owners who are happy to charter their boats by the day as well as providing great service and good prices - so that you can confidently rent a great boat and not worry about it actually being there when you arrive.

You can get a day boat from almost any marina if you want one, but there are several areas that stand out as being superb day charter locations. The French Rivera, of course stands out, with charters between Cannes, St Tropez, Monaco, and all the great places in between. French Riviera Day Charters. Which boat is right for you?

Here are a few of the basic types of boats available to day charter:

	FUN BOAT For up to 5 passengers cruising around the harbour or to an island, going sightseeing, snorkeling, or waterskiing. Approx €500 plus petrol and skipper (€150 if needed). Contact us!
	FAMILY CRUISER For up to 6 pax cruising on a day trip, going sightseeing, snorkeling or waterskiing. The cabin and mini galley provide shelter and a place to prepare food. Approx €600 plus petrol and skipper (€150 if needed). Contact us!
	RUNABOUT Up to 8 pax cruising on a day trip, going sightseeing and snorkeling. The interior allows for relaxation and food preparation. Sleeps 2 to 4. Approx €1000 per day plus petrol and skipper (€150 if needed). Contact us!
	CRUISER For those with a larger party (up to 10 people) who want to go a bit further in more comfort. Can be rented for multiple days with guests sleeping aboard. Comes with a skipper. Approx €2100 per day plus petrol. Contact us!
	SAILING BOAT We can also provide you with a beautiful day sailing boat, for the ultimate feeling of freedom. Approx €700 per day plus skipper. Contact us!

Can you Skipper yourself? About Certification and Skippers

If you have proper certification: generally ICC Day Skipper license or equivalent, you will be able to take most of these boats out bareboat. However, while regulations vary from country to country, unless you have certification you generally will be required to hire a skipper to take these boats. Skippers can provide a wealth of information about the area, get you into interesting restaurants or secluded bays, and generally make your day safer and more enjoyable. And for about €150 to €200 per day, they are a bargain! Don't forget to tip the skipper (generally 5-10% of the charter price), and buy him lunch along the way!
