We were fortunate to be able to get a thorough viewing of DAMRAK, a 70 ft Sunreef Power Catamaran, and talk to the captain at the Monaco Yacht show. DAMRAK is a great example of why we believe that power catamarans are a major trend in the charter market. She has excellent space – in the cabins and in the living areas – which is great for a family or group of friends. And she’s amazingly economical – only consumes 40 litres per hour of fuel, far less than a comparable monohull. So you can cruise for long distances without constantly worrying about the fuel bill (not to mention the carbon footprint).
Her interior, like all Sunreef Catamarans, is modern with beautiful use of light woods. Plenty of amenities, such as a hot tub on the flydeck, wireless light switches, and all the requisite water toys. You get an enormous amount of boat for her price, and she is a yacht that we can highly recommend!
So if you’re planning your next motor yacht charter, think about a power catamaran, for all of the above reasons!

We spent 3 days climbing all over gorgeous yachts at the Monaco Yacht Show (someone’s got to do it!) and talking to experts in the yachting business, and will try to distill all of this into a few posts. Here are some of our topline conclusions:
area, complete with tables, bars, parasols and mini kitchens (see image). These have a pool house feel to them, and add a nice “hang out” environment that gets you closer to the water. And of course nearly all yachts now have hot tubs and internet built in.
However, we’ve already seen a pickup in yacht charter enquiries for 2010 for both of these events. The financial situation has stabilised, and many people are realising that the 
Event and Celebration Boats. In the past, we’ve had to turn away many groups that had more than 12 people because, due to Maritime Law and insurance reasons, there are very few yachts on the Riviera that are qualified to carry more then 12 people. The good news this summer is that we have several fantastic Event Catamarans that carry up to 56 people! They are reasonably priced, designed with groups in mind, and are happy to add catering, DJs, water sports, etc. So if you have a business meeting, birthday, wedding reception, stag party, team building event or any other reason to put a large number of people on a boat, we now have several great alternatives for you (we of course also offer motor yachts that carry up to 150 people if that’s what you’re looking for!).
