London looks to its waterways in preparation for the Olympics 2012!

The canals and waterways of River Thames Gateway have long been important for both businesses and the enviroLondonnment of the local area, and now thanks to a kick start from the Olympics 2012, they are undergoing major developments to assist in both transfer of materials for building the Olympic Park, as well as looking to the future and developing the area for pleasure boating and transfers of materials! The renovations are all part of looking at a greener way to transport the 1.75 million tonnes of construction materials required for the Olympic Park as well as looking out for climate change and providing a new and more sustainable network of canals and rivers for future endeavours.
