Where to Eat and Drink in Split and Korcula: 3 Must-Try Croatian Culinary Experiences

Split is a highlight of any Croatian yacht charter, combining centuries of history, a beautiful waterfront, and easy access to some of the Adriatic’s most scenic islands. And with so much to see and do, its thriving food scene is the proverbial cherry on top of a sundae. Or, in this case, a drizzle of fine olive oil over a seafood risotto. From family-run konobas to contemporary restaurants showcasing fresh, locally sourced ingredients, there’s plenty to explore. We’ve rounded up a few of our favourites below, but wherever you end up, expect fresh Adriatic seafood, locally grown produce, plenty of olive oil, and traditional Dalmatian specialities, best enjoyed with a glass of Croatian wine.

ART-i-COK

Articok is one of our charter experts’ personal favourites in Split, and it’s easy to see why. The restaurant serves quality local cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere, with a menu that makes the most of seasonal ingredients. Seafood and risotto are particularly worth trying, but the excellent meat dishes and cocktails are hefty players in their own right. Since the menu changes with the seasons, there will always be something new to discover.

Konoba Fetivi

For a taste of traditional Dalmatian cooking, make your way to Konoba Fetivi in Varoš, one of Split’s oldest neighbourhoods near the historic fishermen’s port. This family-run restaurant has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction for its authentic cooking and excellent value. Seafood is the star here, with the restaurant widely regarded as one of Split’s best places to enjoy it. If you’re looking to experience the local food culture beyond the more contemporary dining scene, this is a spot we’d certainly recommend.

A Private Korcula Wine Tasting Onboard

croatian wine bottles on the shelf, a must try during a stop in split during your yacht charter

You don’t always have to leave the yacht to enjoy a memorable Croatian food and wine experience. We can also recommend arranging a private tasting with Jen from Korcula Wine Tours, who brings her own collection of Korculan wines directly onboard. She’ll walk you through the different varieties, explaining where the grapes are grown and what makes the island’s wines distinctive. Our charter expert particularly enjoyed her enthusiasm and the stories behind each bottle, making this a lovely way to spend an afternoon or ease into an evening onboard.

From freshly caught Adriatic fish in a family-run konoba to a bottle of island wine poured on deck, Split has plenty to introduce you to the flavours of Dalmatia. Speak to one of our Boatbookings Charter Experts to start planning your Croatian yacht charter.
