Day 1 - Tenakee Springs

Our first stop from Alaska’s capital, Juneau, is the charming village of Tenakee Springs. Nestled in a cove on Chichagof Island, this secluded community is accessible by boat, ferry, or seaplane, with no roads connecting it to the outside world. It’s a good place to begin your cruise by disconnecting from the modern world. Take a walk along the boardwalks, admire the waterfront homes, and learn about the local way of life.

Day 2 - Chichagof Island

Spend the next day exploring Chichagof Island’s wildlife. From the settlement of Hoonah, you can choose from a variety of experiences unique to Alaska, including kayaking, whale-watching, and guided bear-viewing tours. Local guides can help you spot wildlife while keeping a safe distance from the animals. At the end of the day, return to your yacht and watch the sun dip below Alaska’s misty horizon.

Day 3 - Admiralty Island

From there, cross over to neighboring Admiralty Island. Known in Tlingit as Kootznoowoo, or “Fortress of the Bears,” the island is home to a large population of brown bears, making it one of the best places in Southeast Alaska to see them in the wild. With advance planning and the necessary permits, you can visit the famed Pack Creek Brown Bear Viewing Area and watch bears from designated observation points. Your crew can help arrange excursions in the area, depending on availability and conditions.

Day 4 - Pybus Bay

A scenic, secluded bay on Admiralty Island, Pybus Bay offers an excellent opportunity to explore Alaska’s natural surroundings. Spend the day observing wildlife along the forested shores, kayaking through sheltered waters, or taking in the views from your yacht’s sundeck. With little development along the coastline, the bay offers plenty of quiet spots to enjoy the scenery.

Day 5 - Gambier Bay

On this day, head north toward Gambier Bay, along Admiralty Island’s eastern coast. The surrounding wilderness makes it a good place to spend more time exploring Alaska’s landscapes and wildlife. Look out for eagles along the shoreline, watch for marine life in the surrounding waters, or take a tender out to explore the coast more closely.

Day 6 - Endicott Arm

Leave Admiralty Island behind and make your way to Endicott Arm for a closer look at Alaska’s glaciers. Lush coastal forests soon give way to towering cliffs, waterfalls, and snow-covered peaks as you cruise toward Dawes Glacier. Along the way, watch for sea lions, porpoises, and orcas in the surrounding waters, as well as harbor seals resting on floating ice. Bald eagles may be spotted overhead, while fishing enthusiasts can look into opportunities to fish for halibut and salmon, subject to local regulations and permits.

Day 7 - Tracy Arm Fjord

From Endicott Arm, we now make our way through the narrower Tracy Arm Fjord. Towering mountain peaks and cascading waterfalls frame the route, leading us to the North and South Sawyer Glaciers. These active tidewater glaciers are still flowing, and you may even catch one calving, as enormous chunks of ice break away and crash into the water. Picture the deep crack of breaking ice echoing across the fjord as you watch seals resting on floating ice and sheer mountain walls rise all around you.

Day 8 - Juneau

Your expedition ends back in Juneau, Alaska’s capital and a key stop along the Inside Passage. Enjoy a relaxed cruise back toward the city, keeping an eye out for humpback whales and orcas from the deck. Once you’ve disembarked, you can make the short trip from downtown to Mendenhall Glacier, where viewpoints and walking trails offer a closer look at one of the region’s best-known natural landmarks.
