Charter a Yacht in Sanremo
Sanremo is a popular charter destination in Liguria, just over the border from Monaco and France. It has become a renowned resort town due to its remarkable climate, the beautiful scenery, food, casino and especially its shopping! Sanremo is an excellent stop on any charter through the French and Italian Riviera, as well as a great starting point for a charter to the various attractions of the Ligurian coast. San Remo is also the provisioning capital of the Riviera - due to it's amazing local produce and excellent prices. You will notice the price drop with simple things like coffee once you have left France and are in Italy!
The town was founded by the Romans and like most Mediterranean port towns has been in multiple hands since then. The heart of Sanremo is the medieval area known as La Pigna, which dates back to 1038. More recently, Sanremo became a popular resort in the late 1800's, when royalty and the upper classes came to holiday in the beautiful climate, and built casinos and resort hotels.
Sanremo is famous for its annual Music Festival held in February, the town offers many summer concerts including a jazz festival in August. It is also world famous for flowers - the hillsides above are dotted with greenhouses full of tulips and every other flower imaginable.
