The British Virgin Islands are an eclectic mix of 60 islands and cays that are ready for you to explore! The BVI's are quite simply a bareboat sailor's dream. With constant trade winds offering constant winds, islands upon islands, and white sand beaches, sailing has never been more enjoyable! Duck into the many anchorages along your itinerary - you are truly spoilt for choice! Most bareboat charters start from the main island of Tortola or Virgin Gorda these are the most populated islands and where the best range of yachts are located. Since Irma destroyed many yachts, the BVIs fleets are all very new! The islands offer some of the best sailing to be had anywhere in the world and are well-suited to sailors with varied abilities.

 

The BVI's provide excellent sailing throughout the year and is very much dependent on what your group is looking for and your sailing level is. As a rule of thumb, we advise our guests not to charter during the months of late July through to early November as the risk of a hurricane increases. December through to April is considered high season and can be busier than May, June or early July. May and June are great for sailors looking for calmer sailing when the sea is still warm. The BVI Spring Regatta is hosted in April and is extremely popular to watch from a yacht!
