Antonio Banderas plays Mallo, and leads a star studded line up supported by Pen\u00e9lope Cruz, Asier Etxeandia and Leonardo Sbaraglia. Almod\u00f3var was successful at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival with &#8216;Volver&#8217;, which saw Cruz walk away with the Best Actress award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pain and Glory marks Almod\u00f3var\u2019s sixth film to compete at Cannes, where he exhibited \u201cAll About My Mother\u201d in 1999, \u201cBroken Embraces\u201d in 2009, \u201cThe Skin I Live In\u201d in 2011 and \u201cJulieta\u201d in 2016.
