With the New Year’s holidays in the past, we traditionally experience a surge in charter bookings, clients got together during Christmas and New Years and having decided about their summer plans, they proceed with selecting yachts for their sunny escapades in the Med<\/strong><\/a>. \"9be5f40b196a43f26060f0290e67a505\"<\/a>One of our most popular cruising grounds all over Med are the Ionian Islands<\/a><\/strong>;\u00a07 big and a dozen smaller green emeralds sprung over the turquoise waters on the West coast of Greece<\/strong><\/a>. Heavily influenced by neighboring Italy, the Ionians are distinctly different than the more popular Cyclades<\/a><\/strong>;\u00a0trees hugging the coast,\u00a0a myriad of small, protected bays and islets\u00a0and multi-colored houses make for an ideal cruising ground.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the Ionians are blessed with calm weather – something that is definitely appealing to those who do not want to be rocked by the Northern Meltemi winds that occur in the Cyclades during July and August.<\/p>\n

Alas, there are very few boats actually based in the Ionians, mainly due to the fact that Greek Yacht owners live in Athens<\/strong><\/a> and they wish to have their vessels based next to them. One of the exceptions is FELIGO<\/a>;<\/strong>\u00a0a lovely 110 foot motor yacht, built in 2008 by renown Cantieri di Pisa, Feligo is traditionally based in Corfu Island for the summer.<\/p>\n
