The yachts are all opting for the direct route and maximizing speed. <em>Rambler 100, <\/em>the Juan Kouyoumdjian-designed 100\u2019 canting keel maxi, is averaging close to 20 knots and predicted to finish on the 10th of July.\u00a0This will set an exceptional benchmark for a transatlantic crossing.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boatbookings.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Rambler.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3571\" title=\"Rambler\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boatbookings.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Rambler-300x198.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a>Rambler 100 <\/em>is closely competing with PUMA&#8217;s<em> Mar Mostro<\/em>.\u00a0 PUMA has taken up a slightly more northerly position however, the Point Alpha ice gate is looming and the Volvo 70 may need to alter course towards the east to leave the mark of the course to port.\u00a0 Nearly one hundred miles behind <em>Rambler 100<\/em>,<em> ICAP Leopard<\/em> is south of the rhumb line and enjoying better breeze than the two rivals in front.<\/p>\n<p>The young Oakcliff All American Offshore Team, racing aboard the Reichel Pugh-designed <em>Vanquish, <\/em>are thrilled with the experience, and opportunity and are managing to hold their own rather well despite the fiercely sophisticated competition.<\/p>\n<p>In IRC Class Two,<em> Jazz<\/em>, is the frontrunner and the\u00a0Cookson 50 has altered course north, aiming for a low-pressure system. This move north also avoids an area of little wind to the south that the German Rogers 46s,<em> Shakti <\/em>and<em> Varuna<\/em>, have been unable to take<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3572\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3572\" style=\"width: 199px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boatbookings.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Second-Start-June-29-\u00a9-Amory-Ross.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3572\" title=\"Second Start, June 29 - \u00a9 Amory Ross\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boatbookings.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Second-Start-June-29-\u00a9-Amory-Ross-199x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3572\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Second Start, June 29 &#8211; ??
