About the Sony World Photography Awards

Held at the Palais des Festivals, Cannes, between the 21st and 25th April 2008, The Sony World Photography Awards proudly give tribute to photographers around the globe in all categories. From landscape to music, photojournalism to fashion, the Sony World Photography Awards showcases the world’s best images taken by the most renowned photographers as well as the yet undiscovered. The aim of the SWPA is to unearth the images of the future while giving tribute to the vision of the past.

Hundreds of the photography industry’s top photographers, critics, gallery owners, directors, founders and other industry experts will attend the show, which is the first photography awards show of its kind. Companies that support the photography industry will be in attendance s well.

The formal program takes place in the "Palais des Festivals" - the main convention center in Cannes where the Film Festival is also held. The Palais is directly next to the Old Port of Cannes and many of the attendees will no doubt be staying and partying on some of the world's most exclusive super yachts.

But yacht charter at SWPA is not restricted to superyachts at the port. Exhibitors and Show Attendees book yachts for all types of uses - ranging from accommodation (you can stay right next to the Festival Hall on a gorgeous boat!) to entertainment yachts for parties and meetings of 10 to 1000!

Chartering a Yacht at SWPA

There are several ways to charter a yacht for SWPA:

Chartering a Yacht for entertaining throughout the SWPA show. The most impressive way to show off your company at SWPA is to charter a large yacht that is suitable for entertaining and apply for a berth on "Jetée Edouard Albert". Your brand becomes associated with the class and elegance of Super Yachts.

Chartering for an Event. If you just want to put on a splashy event for your customers, you might consider chartering a yacht for just a day. There are some amazing yachts that specialize in events, and are happy to work with you to accomplish any event objective. These boats can be anchored or cruise around the Riviera, depending on you goals. Note - if you will be cruising with more than 12 people, the boat requires a special license due to safety regulations. We can recommend which boats are suitable for this kind of floating event.

Chartering for Accommodation. Instead of staying in a hotel during the show, why not stay on a yacht, right next to the Palais? That way you're right in the middle of the show for a very reasonable price. You can stay in the Old Port, just near the Palais, or Port Canto, on the other end of the Croisette, near some of the most exclusive night clubs. Chartering for a Day Cruise. If you want to entertain a small group, or just get away from it all and cruise the French Riviera, we can easily arrange that! Boats starting at €500 can be rented quite easily, and we'd be happy to recommend a suitable itinerary, such as to St Tropez or Monaco.
