About Croatia Yacht Charter
Dubrovnik
A typical Adriatic Town
Trogir |
A yacht charter along Croatia`s splendid Adriatic coast offers hundreds of pristine islands, crystal-clear sea, impossibly perfect medieval towns, impressive landscapes, sandy and pebble beaches, peaceful coves, and picturesque ports. The 350km/220 mile Dalmatian coastline is an ideal yachting area - offering more than 1400 islands, many of which are pristine and unspoiled. With hidden coves, ageless white-stone villages, olive groves and vineyards, each island has its own special charm and attractions.
Croatia's historical treasures spring from Illyrian, Roman, Christian, Venetian and Austrian empires, often in pristine condition. And while Croatia is growing in popularity as a tourist destination, it remains one of Europes best preserved destinations.

Split is probably the major bareboat center, but you have an excellent selection all the way from Dubrovnik to Pula. As a taste of what you have to experience on a Croatia Bareboat Charter - we've put together this Dubrovnik to Split Bareboat Sailing Itinerary to get you in the mood.
We do have bareboat motor yachts for charter as well, if you're interested. They can give you a wider variety of destinations in the same time period, due to their greater speed on the water.

Gulet Charter - Gulets are large wooden sailing yachts that have been specially fitted for sailing charter. Gulets typically have 4 - 6 cabins, all with en suite bathrooms, large dining and socialising areas, huge decks for sunbathing, and a large crew complete with captain, chef, hostesses and deckhands. Gulets are a glorious sight with all their sails up under a full wind, and a fantastic way to experience the wonders of crewed sailing charter. If you have several couples or families who would like to charter on the same boat, gulets are an excellent option, and are available at great value.

Dubrovnik has long been a celebrated seaside city, known worldwide for its beauty and charm. It is a gorgeous walled city that is entered through an ancient and impressive gateway. Climate
Croatia has a superb Mediterranean Climate, which means it's generally warm and dry throughout the yachting season. The warmest months are July and August when the air temperature is 77F/25C to 95F/35C. Summer sea temperature reaches up into the low 80's F/ high 20's C.
The "shoulder" seasons of June and September are delightful, with fewer crowds but still excellent weather and warm waters. Average temperatures in the mid 70's F/ 20's C. After September, you risk winds and turbulent weather, so chartering is riskier, although you can still have excellent stretches of weather.
Yacht Charter In Croatia - Some guidelines
The Crewed Charter market is growing rapidly in Croatia because of all the reasons listed above. To charter in Croatia is to experience the Mediterranean as it once was. You can set an itinerary that will give you a bit of everything: serenity, night life, excellent local cuisine, architectural marvels, historical sites.
Charterers have to be aware that you can only charter a Croatian Flag yacht if you are to start your holiday from a Croatian port. For this reason, because the majority of luxury yachts are not under the Croatian Flag, many charters begin in Venice and come south to Dubrovnik, or start in Montenegro and go north. We can consult with you as to the best itinerary and starting port.
There is a new Tourist Tax Law in Croatia which has been put into effect on 1st of January 2009. Each passenger is obliged to pay a tourist tax in the amount of 7kn (circa 1 EUR) per person per day at the base marina before setting sail. The tax is supposed to be paid in cash, in advance, on one-time basis covering the whole charter period.
