Cannes, Cap d'Antibes and Iles Lerins Yacht Charter Itinerary
Cannes, Cap d'Antibes and Iles Lerins Day Charter Itinerary on the French Riviera
So, you’ve got the perfect charter boat, a beautiful day, a blue sky and a sparkling sea, but you don’t want to go all the way to St Tropez or Monaco for your day charter from Cannes, so why not go and visit the historic Iles de Lérins for a more relaxed day on the water while still taking in some unique views of the islands and Cannes itself?
The following is a nice day charter to see the world famous Cap d'Antibes and enjoy the peaceful and historic Lerin Islands, away from the fast pace of Cannes.
Cannes - Old Port or Port Canto to Cap d'Antibes
Setting off by 10am, head out of the Old Port of Cannes or Port Canto, just next to Palm Beach, and head over to the Cap d’Antibes, passing by the party beaches of Juan les Pins before taking a look at the world famous Eden Roc hotel. The Eden Roc is where many of the A-list stars stay during the Film Festival, and is one of the most luxurious on the Cote d'Azur.
From here you have a straight run across open sea back towards Cannes and the Iles de Lérins.
Anchor at the Iles de Lérins (Lerin Islands)
The Iles de Lérins are made up of the Ile St Marguerite and the Ile St Honorat. Ile Ste Marguerite is the larger of the two, and is a national park home to the famous Fort Royal which held the Man in the Iron Mask whose identity still remains a mystery today.
Cruise past this impressive structure, perched high above on sheer rocks before making your way round the smaller St Honorat, with her Monastère Fortifié (pictured) facing out towards the open Mediterranean, which is still home to Cistercian monks who have inhabited the island since the 11th Century.
After taking in both islands, come round and through the channel between the two islands, ready to drop anchor and enjoy lunch on board the boat. There will normally be plenty of other people on neighboring boats doing the same, and the standard drink is Provencal Rose Wine or of course Champagne.
You can either go ashore and stroll along the paths, and have lunch either as a picnic, or in one of the restaurants near the Fort. Or bring a lunch with you, stay on the boat and enjoy the waters of the Mediterranean by jumping in and going for a swim off the back of the boat. The waters are very clear and quite warm in the summer.
Relax and make the most of the afternoon by either lazing around on the boat or going ashore to explore. Whatever your decision, seeing the islands in this way is a truly magical charter and a great day out for groups of all sizes.

Patrick Said:
“Yes, this is what all the locals do - it`s beautiful between the islands and you feel like you`re miles away from the bustle of Cannes. Be careful, the restaurants have become quite pricy lately!”
