The new Beneteau Oceanis 523 is a fast cruiser that is equally at home seeking out sheltered anchorages as it is eating up the miles on an ocean passage. A modern hull, efficient rig and cavernous accommodation will make her a first class yacht.
The new flagship of the Bénéteau range, the Océanis 523 has drawn from all the years of experience from Bénéteau and the 523 design team Group Finot. At home, as a weekend cruiser or a true bluewater passage maker the 523 fits the bill.
The 523 will delight even the most demanding of owners with its innovative hull design and generous sail plan. The standard bow thruster makes manoeuvrability in the tightest quarters easy. The uncluttered and safety conscious deck-plan, with lots of handrails and high guard wires ensure safety, whilst moving ondeck. The cockpit has a large folding table and the twin helm position allows for room for up to ten people.
Down below, guests will be astonished by the amount of light that streams through the 34 portholes and hatches as well as the spacious saloon. The lightness is matched by the headroom which approaches and sometimes exceeds 2.0m throughout the living accommodation.
About Maddalena Island:
The wild and imposing coastline, beaten by the waves breaking over the granite rock that lines the island of Tavolara as far as the headland at Capo Testa, and around the whole archipelago of La Maddalena, represents one of the most attractive places in the whole of the Mediterranean without a shadow of a doubt. The strong colours provided by nature, the incredible transparency of the sea plunging into depths of cobalt blue, and the sudden, impetuous gusts of the wind, storming violently in from the shore or even more formidably from out at sea, make this part of Sardinia an impervious yet magical place. Pleasure boats only started arriving here in the second half of the eighteenth century because of the richness of opportunities for safe anchorage and most of all thanks to the newly available, detailed nautical charts.
