They are typically built of pine wood or mostly mahogany nowadays and styled with a pointed bow and round stern. Traditionaly they have been hand made by master craftsmen from Bodrum area of Turkey, and hence are referred to as `the Bodrum area ` crafts or sometimes also referred to as `Caiques`.

Over the years gulets have evolved from traditional crafts for fishing and transport to their present profile with a broad beam and wide deck. Modern Blue Voyage boats like M/S Enderim A are comfortably equipped with all the amenities and encourage an environment in which you are expected to do nothing but enjoy yourself.
