Sweden – the Land of the Midnight Sun - is a Nordic country on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe, bordering Norway to the west and Finland to the northeast, connected to Denmark by the Öresund Bridge.

The Volvo Ocean race stops over in Marstrand (West coast) from 10-14 June 2009, and Stockholm on 21 June.
These stopovers are a highlight of the event, and allow spectators to experience and participate in the spirit of the race.
There is a line of little harbours/villages along the west coast which make a perfect one week sailing trip, with either short or long days of sailing. AND week 29 is a special week when about 200 boats with party people follow a particular schedule with new places every night!
June 21st is a public holiday and everyone celebrates with a party!
Also, for one week in July thousands of tourists visit for the Marstrand Match Cup, so another great opportunity to charter a yacht and join the party atmosphere in this glorious ancient port town and resort!
