Rovinj, Croatia Overview and Charter Yachts

Rovinj is another gem of a city in Croatia situated on the north Adriatic Sea, on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula. From the sea, one can recognize Rovinj by its stunning cathedral located on the hill.

The town is located on a little peninsula, surrounded by sea with its historic center modeled on the Venice layout. Gloriously picturesque, it is a popular charter destination and an active fishing port.

Jules Verne, the father of science fiction, in search of unique places for his novels, chose Rovinj as a setting for some chapters of his novel \'Mathias Sandorf\'. Just as Jules was, many a visitor has been equally enchanted by Rovinj and its beauty.

All the Rovinj coast and the surrounding twenty-two islands and islets are a protected natural heritage.

Yachts can berth in Rovinj either in the city harbour to the south or in the ACI marina further south across the small island of Katarina.

ACI marina provides safe berthage for yachts in all kind of wind, though a strong north-westerly and tourist boats can cause surface swell. Access is possible from both north and south.

MARINA INFO
The marina lies southeast of Rovinj harbour near a small shipyard. It is surrounded with pine woods, only 1 km from the town centre. St. Katarina Island, with its coast, provides shelter from all winds. The marina has 380 berths and 40 boat places on land; berths have water and power supply.
