Moonen Shipyards
Moonen Shipyards, founded in the medieval Brabant town of `s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, more than a quarter-century ago, has grown to become internationally renowned for building superbly crafted custom and semi-custom superyachts.
Their line consists of an Explorer Series and a Displacement Series of long-range cruisers with steel hulls and alloy superstructures, and an all-aluminum, semi-displacement Fast Yacht Series. Moonen builds each yacht with meticulous Dutch workmanship and cutting edge design, bringing to life each client\'s unique vision of the ideal yacht, while maintaining the classic Moonen look.
To date, the shipyard has produced just three to four yachts per year, but it seems that is about to change. Recently a second facility has opened in Groot-Ammers, The Netherlands, in order to better serve a growing volume of clients and meet current trends toward ever-larger builds. In addition, Moonen has been commissioned to finish a GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) 120 ft yacht designed by Bill Dixon, which was started by Royal Denship in Denmark before bankruptcy in 2009. Although the yacht, scheduled to launch in May 2011, is the first GRP vessel the yard has undertaken, it is likely to set in motion new options for future builds.
Moonen yachts combine traditional craftsmanship, contemporary elegance and state-of-the-art technology to offer the most discriminating charter client an unsurpassed experience.
