The eastern seaboard of the Gulf of Thailand is a relatively new sailing area, and so has some of the most uncrowded islands, beaches and anchorages in SE Asia. The sailing area includes 2 national parks, and stretches from the developed resort of Pattaya, southeast to Koh Samet, on to the 40 islands of the Koh Chang Archipelago, and finally down to Koh Kut and the border into unexplored Cambodia. It also has some of the best sailing conditions in Thailand. It is not yet as famous as Phuket, but it is further north, which means better year round wind conditions.
