Boatbookings FLIBS Preview on TOUCAN TOO

Are you fortunate enough to be attending this year’s prestigious Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show? Spread over 7 locations and covering 3 million square feet of space, FLIBS 2014 promises to be bigger and better than ever! Even though the show does not start for another day, the Boatbookings Team were lucky to get a sneak preview of this year’s event while cruising the stunning water ways of Fort Lauderdale. If you’re looking for a fun day on the water out of Fort Lauderdale with family and friends, the 41’ power catamaran TOUCAN TOO would be the perfect yacht for you.

Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

The Boatbookings Brokers decided to take advantage of the fantastic Florida weather to critique this crewed power catamaran and we had a very memorable time doing so. We met TOUCAN TOO at the floating docks right in front of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and were immediately greeted by her friendly crew of two; Captain Brian and our Hostess Susie were the perfect crew for the day. After a safety briefing we had welcome drinks on the spacious flybridge and started out on our cruise.

Toucan Too

We took a leisurely cruise up the Intracoastal Waterway to view the many homes of the rich and famous while enjoying a delicious fruit and cheese platter, as well as shrimp cocktail with Susie’s homemade mustard sauce. After our leisurely cruise, we were ready to have some fun in the water so Captain Brian suggested we head to Lake Sylvia.

Las OlasOnce we arrived and anchored, Captain Brian and Susie got out the inflatable toys so that we could all get into the water and relax or hop on the rib tender for a ride. Susie was the perfect hostess and made sure everyone always had what they needed. After much fun in the water, she tempted us with her delicious curried chicken lettuce wraps, which were the perfect compliment to a warm day in the Florida sun. Captain Brian took us for a lovely cruise to preview the yachts moving into the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.  This was great to see especially since we will be there tomorrow through Monday to preview yachts for our clients!

Mansions

We highly recommend TOUCAN TOO for full day charters for up to 10 guests out of Fort Lauderdale.  She is only available on the weekends and very reasonably priced for the experience, so book your adventure on her soon before you miss this wonderful opportunity to spend the day on the water with your family and friends!

Celebrity Homes

If you are new to Fort Lauderdale and seeking inspiration for a memorable dining experience, be sure to head down to BAO on Las Olas Boulevard. Reserve well in advance for a table by the water and enjoy some of the best Thai, Vietnamese and Korean gastronomy outside South East Asia. During a recent visit, our broker team were astonished by the quality of the service and food, whether it was a classical recipe or creative fusion of east meets west.

Bao Las Olas

We would recommend:

  • BAO Buns – Kurobuta Pork Belly and Blackened Snapper
  • Har Gow Dumplings with Wild Gulf Shrimp, Chili Oil and Crispy Shallots.
  • Chinese Sticky Ribs with Apple Kimchee
  • Thai Beef Salad with Arugula, Watercress, Radish and a Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette.
  • Korean Street Tacos with Barbecued Steak and Napa Cabbage Slaw.
